Satellite radio?
any users?
i tried it 15 years ago. It was worthless. “Ad less” programming didn’t include constant ads for other satellite channels. Several stations for each genre but playlists were almost identical.
is it any better now? Oh and I don’t care about stern.
Asking cause I can sign up for almost free for 3 months with my newest truck purchase. Thanks. T

I have had it for several years. I only listen to News and some of the comedy channels. I called to cancel last week because I was paying too much and the talked me into keeping it another year by cutting my charges by over 75%. Don 0 -
Just be sure to note when to cancel when it is do. Lots of "stuff" on there but after the 3 months going to let it go. 0 -
Too much money for too little service. I canceled.
Spotty coverage. They remove channels on a whim. They will harass the yellow stuff out of you.
Do not give them your credit card number if you decide to subscribe! Send them a check.

I have it and enjoy the programming. Fox business is one of my go to channels along with classic vinyl. We have been customers for over a decade and the service is much better than it used to be. However, it is not cheap and as mentioned earlier if you call and threaten to cancel, they will typically reduce your subscription fee. I pay by invoice and then go ahead and use my CC online to pay. This way I have to make a conscious decision to renew each year and can negotiate a new rate if necessary. GO for the 3 month trial and enjoy. I just purchased a new car and along with the three month frees with the purchase they just sent me an offer for another three months free if I sign up for monthly access after the trial period. You can do this and still cancel at the end of the trial if you so desire. 0 -
I have it and I only listen to channels 5, 6, 7 and 8 which are for 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s rock music along with Willie's Roadhouse for classic country. There are no advertisements on those channels. News channels and sports channels have ads. 0 -
I got it for free and when its time to renew I don't then they offer a free trial again

I have the basic music package, I like all the classic Rock and Country channels without having to sort through this modern stuff they call country now,, Its like $9 a month

Thanks! Still haven’t decided. If I do I’ll set reminder 0 -
OK, for the past year I have had Sirius XM Select, & paid exactly $112.72 for a year. I said I didn't want anything with Stern, but didn't bother to check to see if I get him. I expect a slight increase when I renew in March. I go through the same routine every year:"Cancel my subscription", "what can we do to keep you?", "how about $x?", etc, etc.Reception in the city is bad --- tall building block the signal. Reception in the woods is bad --- signal blocked by trees. Everywhere else, it works well. But, I only listen to a few stations; on trips, it keeps the wife happy for hours, because she doesn't have to keep changing the channel.

Bought a new 2019 Tacoma Dec 24, 2018. It came with 3 months free Sirius Radio. I don't spend enough time in a vehicle to justify the expense. 14months later, truck has 4200 miles on it. 0 -
I use my phone now. Between tune in and got radio I can almost get the same stuff with no fees 0 -
I too quit. You can negotiate a lower price by a lot than they ask after your free time is out. I listened to a lot of the 40s, 50s, 60s etc. But it was basically all top 100 from the decade over an over. Even the classical channel was repetitive. Any oldies station has a larger play list as does any classical station. Jazz was all the Kenny G kind of crap, no be bop or cool Jazz, never heard Brubeck, Shorter, or others of that era. I vastly prefer MP3 CD audiobooks. I did not even bother with the tee shirt, since they did not offer to pay me for advertising for them. 0 -
If you do a lot of traveling you can't beat it. You don't have to search for stations from one state to another. We've driven across the country from Atlanta to LA to Seattle to Minnesota and places in between and back on different Interstates twice and then we did it 2 more times on the back roads hitting every state we missed on the Interstate and then some. Music all the way with no searching. 3 -
Waaaaaaaaaay back, maybe 15-17 years ago, we got two lifetime memberships for $150 each. They've paid for themselves many times over! I LOVE having ad-free radio, and when I'm out in the boonies, with no cell phone reception, the Pandora stations I like don't work!
I'm about to switch one of the memberships to my new truck, instead of my portable radio. Also, for those of you who want to pirate satellite radio, this DOES WORK:
1. Activate your radio by paying the small intro fee. A week or two before it is going to expire, unplug the RADIO's power. Keep it unplugged for 3-4 months, 90 days minimum. After 90 days, they stop sending the "turn that radio off" signal, and you'll have free satellite radio forever.
I've never done this though, since I have two lifetime subs, but I've seen it done, and it works.

I am a member...threaten to cancel every six months and they do six months for $29.99. I listen to channels 37 (octane) thru 40 and Patriot and Fox news. I don't drive my truck much, but its' worth it to me for $30 every six months to hear the newest music on Octane. 3 -
Seems my story is consistent with many.
Got is with a new rig, something like $ 100.00 a year.
After a year, they were going to charge $ 200.00 a year. I cancelled, they offered to hold the price for the next year.
Played this stupid game for 5 or 6 years and when they refused to drop from the $ 200.00 level, I left.
Got an email a few months later offering a re-introductory rate of the original price, which was deleted.
Started listening to local news on the way into work, and Pandora 'Nazareth' channel linked from my phone on the way home. A much better situation all around. The free Pandora has a lot of selections.0 -
i bought a used pickup several years ago that the former owner had sirius radio......i have never done one letter of business in any way shape nor form with these rotten bas---ds... hounded me morning noon and night phone, mailings, saturday evening , sunday dinner ......for two years trying to get a subscription....if i saw one of their agents wrecked and hurt in a ditch i would spit on em and let em lay and drive off 3 -
Not in truck but I do listen to it at home. 0 -
Just got off the phone with Sirius concerning the subscription on Judys Equinox. Told them if I cancel you'll just send me a cheap promo offer next month to get me back. I said let's just save the time and trouble and give me the promo offer now. They did and I saved $130 bucks. This is what I did last year on my Acadia. I wonder how many people get the renewal notice and let it renew at full price? Only took 5 minutes but I guess a lot of people can't be bothered. Bob 0 -
My Chev. ran out on subscription and I got a message that I could re install it for 29 bucks for six months. Best price they gave me so far. Im gonna try to get a year for 60 if I can. 0 -
I got the free deal when I bought my new Kia. After that they offered a free week from time to time. Now I have the $5/mo + tax deal for one year when it will automatically go up & I will cancel. Then when they offer the deal again I may do it again. I can also get all the channels on my computer, tablet & cell phone. 0 -
I am not paying for it refused to sign up for it when I got my KIA Soul. The buzzards got my number from the dealer and kept calling me. I told them NO in terms they apparently finally understood so they stopped calling me. NEVER, EVER give them your credit card number. Get your three months activated then hang up the phone before they browbeat you into submission. 0 -
My Toyota sales guy joked that he's working on getting XM for $1 a month. Keeps beating them down every time a renewal comes up. I like it as I can listen to the same stations all over the USA - no hunting for channels. 0 -
First off why on earth do you answer phone calls from people you don't know? They'll finally get tired of calling if you don't answer. And lastly if you have verizon go to their website and block the number that's bothering you.bpost said:I am not paying for it refused to sign up for it when I got my KIA Soul.
