Yesterday was one of the few sunny days we’ve had this winter. Friday night, black ice caused a man to wreck into a creek near here. The high water washed his car 200 yards before he was able to get out. There’s a picture on Facebook of his car completely submerged.
Last summer the extreme drought made for no hay and grass. Farmers were feeding hay in September.
Better too wet than too dry, I guess.

Will not be splitting any more wood, in the next week, week & a half. Unless it is done in the rain and the mud. Glad I got a fair amount done yesterday to augment my current in house wood pile. (I probably have at least 3-4 weeks worth inside. (Emergency dried wood in the basement.)

I was behind from the get go, on my wood pile for this Winter. Have been struggling to keep up.

I plan on doing a much better job of it, next Winter.

    My own fault.

2-3 inches of snow on the ground, rain just now. Heavy fog. Had a small fire going, most of the day. 35° this AM. Cold and rainy.

    Ugly out.

Warm and raining here.  Not too much winter this year.  The Forsythia are blooming early.

It has gotten down in the single digits a few times this year, so I would not say there has been no Winter, but it has been hit or miss.

Ken it was colder before Christmas than after.  We have not a day in single digits yet and not many days below freezing.  Lots of rain though.  It got up to 68 yesterday.

Pretty typical northern Utah weather this year. Cold front with snow every three or four days, inversion layer between them. Modest snow accumulation down here, much more in the mountains. Temps mostly in the 20s at night, mid 30s in the day with a few days both above and below those norms. Yesterday was glorious, today cloudy, tomorrow snow - as described.
Got a chance to see planet Mercury last night. Not only is it at its farthest apparent distance from the sun, but it was a clear evening. Visible with the naked eye, to boot. Just stunning. It can be seen below and to the right of Venus about 40 minutes after sunset if you're interested. It appears before any nearby stars, so the first bright dot you see at that time is Mercury.
