Lots of Gold Finches, House Finches and Cardinals at my feeders to day!! What's at your feeders???
A few Chickadees, Tufted Tit Mice, Downy Woodpeckers and the occasional Doves feeding on the ground underneath the seed feeders and an every once in a while a Junco. Yesterday I saw a Blue Bird perched on a sun flower feeder. I see that maybe once or twice a year even though we have lots of Blue Birds in our back yard. I would really like to hear from some you a long way from South Carolina. pics would be neat but I can't seem to get the pics thing figured out.

here in WVa, blue jays and doves are about all we have this time of year, except the little sparrows, I think they are the cockroaches of the bird world....... 0 -

Juncos. Saw a goldfinch at somebody else's feeder today, but none at mine. 0 -

Add in a few red bellied woodpeckers and substitute blue jays for your blue bird and my feeder looks much the same here in Michigan. The numbers have been down this year. Either it is Trumps fault or more neighbors have feeders. dreher,if you are in Spartanburg,I am about 60 or 70 miles from you in northern Pickens county and the only time I see goldfinchs is for a few days in the late summer or early fall when they are eating the sunflowers. 0 -

House finches, sparrows, ruby crowned kinglet, lesser goldfinch, juncos, collared doves, white wing doves, mourning doves, ladderback woodpecker, curve billed thrasher, hopeful stray cat. 0 -
He Dog where are you located?? There are a few of the birds at your feeders I don't think I have ever seen. 0 -
In CT , goldfinch, chickadees, house finch , 2 bluebirds wood peckers of assorted kind, juncos, & others I'm not even sure what they are, because they come and go to quick 0 -
And the rarely seen yard Yeti !!!!3 -
Cardinals, finches, doves, chickadees, downy and hairy woodpeckers, an occasional flicker, nuthatches, sparrows, towhees, and Squirrels
have warblers but they won't stay long enough for identificationI was in Alabama this week and say first blue birds.

I love my little birdies, but am not a "birder" that can identify 900 species on sight. I recently bought a great book to help with that. It's "Sibley Field Guide to Western Birds." He also has a USA-wide book. Truly excellent color drawings and descriptions. What I really need is a book broken down into "little gray ones, little brown ones, medium gray ones..." LOL! 0 -
Truth is, the screwy squirrels chewed my feeders to shreds. I just started tossing the sunflower seeds on top of the snow and viola! 0 -
Yesterday my wife saw a Hummingbird fly right up to the window where she keeps feeders during the summer so evidently he's been here before. Feb. 7th, that's the earliest we've ever had a hummingbird show up. Must be from all the warm weather we've been having. She went ahead and put a small feeder out there incase he shows back up. 0 -

I have black cap chicadees, woodpeckers, sparrows, redbirds, snowbirds, dove and several other species. I have seen this fat Redtail Hawk show up on several occasions. I like the raptors. They probably snack on a few birds and squirrels, but they are fellow hunters and in good company with me. This one is almost semi-tame.

Looks like my backyard....I also had a few pigeons land on one of my feeders ,like a couple of C5s landing on an aircraft carrier.Brookwood said:

Come late Spring\early summer I get a plethora of blue birds (Indigo Buntings) and Grosbeaks along with the Ruby Throated Humming birds and a few Oriels. 0 -

Brookwood, I had never seen an Indigo Bunting, then I moved to SE Ohio and these incredible flashes of neon like blue were every where!! I completely fell in love with Indigo Buntings. Years later I moved away from SE Ohio. I have not seen an Indigo Bunting in at least 35 years. 0 -
We have a TON of red birds right now.....a few tufted titmouse, and a bunch of finches out there right now. We get a random woodpecker from time to time (two varieties seem to stay nearby.) I've seen a few yellow finches lately, but mostly its the purple ones that stay here year round.
We do get the indigo buntings, but only for a week or so. I've seen them every year since we started feeding the birds.....but they don't stay. We get blue birds, but not at our feeders. They build nests in our boxes every year and I watch the parents going in and out of the boxes when they have babies.0 -
