Wow! In my opinion that is way out of the 'kid' category! That gun has been worked over to where it is now too valuable and pretty to shoot. My kids learned on a Stevens Mod. 15 that I got for 40 bucks at a farm auction. That gun had better bring over a grand or the owner is going to lose money on it.

Far from any of my grandkids. The company that did that did a great job, imo. She will do well.

I guess I should of prefaced that with for the well to do kids, because it was not something any of my kind of relatives could afford when I was a kid.  Still, kids who were somewhat well to do had the nice old original Winchester 1890's that many of us collect nowadays.

That's a beautiful early second model 1890. I love the stock and forearm, but not so much the case hardening. It's pretty and I like it, but isn't original to that rifle. It looks like excellent work and should bring a good price.

It is excellent work at that.  Lots of guns are going at very low prices now.

That is Beautiful. I would Love to have that in my collection. Not in the works, just now. (I have a bunch of .22shorts that will not function [feed] in my Marlin 81DL.)

    That gun is Beautiful.

It is a great restoration, and the price has about double since first posting the link.  With dealers still bidding, we might get some outstanding insight to what professionally restored 1890s on a very soft market might bring...and that helps too!
