    Damn you would think a celeb like that would have gone to the Doc sooner if he had any symptoms, Sorry for him no fun dying with plenty of money. Bet the Libs slipped him something from the Russkies to cause it. GREEN

    Often there are no symptoms until it is way too late. There was a guy I knew in the same trade as me years back that smoked heavy all his life. He felt fine, but developed a hacking cough. A couple of weeks later he started coughing up blood, which sent him to the doc. Three weeks later he was dead, and in the ground.

    I've heard him several times mention that he enjoyed a cigar with some liquor after a meal. He wasn't my favorite patriot talk show host, but he filled the gap after Neil Boortz retired. I'll still miss him though.

    In his announcement, which I heard live, he mentioned that he was asymptomatic until earlier last month. When he was slightly short of breath, he went to the doctor and found out he had advanced lung cancer.

    Always and still like the guy. He is despised by many for merely telling the truth. 

    Hope for the best possible outcome, but having said that, if you watched his show, he was always surrounded by a fog of cigar smoke and openly and many times talked about nicotine stained fingers and how he enjoyed cigars.  

    Smoking tobacco is responsible for millions of deaths, yet tobacco is legal. Rush always supported peoples right to smoke if they wish to and most people who believe in personal responsibility and individual freedom should agree.  He openly chastised DEMOCRATs whose solution for tobacco use was bans and taxes. Long may he live.

    Sorry to hear that. Used to listen every day 30 years ago, gradually got less and less. Listened just recently to get his take on the impeachment; he had it all figured out.
    He was a speaker at the NRA convention some years back and he was awarded a muzzle-loader. He said it was his first gun. He has always supported the right s of gun-owners, though.

    Haven't listened to in years other than an occasional couple of minutes before I change the station.

    He used to constantly refer to his 'formerly nicotine stained fingers'. 

    Apparently the stain was much deeper.

    I wish him the best.  Medical science has done amazing things with cancer over the past decade.

    He was a cigarette smoker for years before switching to cigars. You don’t inhale cigar smoke. Even a recent study shows negligible impact from a couple cigars a day. Being his financial situation I bet he also had a smoke eater in his studio. His lung cancer either came from cigarettes years ago that just now has bloomed or in his dna. Lot of people get lung cancer and never smoked a day in their life.

    My dad died of lung cancer (undiagnosed by the VA) and never smoked. He was 89; everybody dies of something. It's not how you die that matters as much as how you lived.
