I agreed with their plan to make a car everybody needs and to manufacture it in the USA.
However, suppose they can't get off the ground because the mood of the country has soured against certain segments of assembly workers? It could be.
When people started kneeling during the anthem, perhaps patriotic people who favor domestic auto production decided they'd buy foreign for a while.
Suppose new companies are having trouble getting the cooperation they need in order to get started.

People may be boycotting American cars.
Perhaps that giant gun buying spree during and after the Great Recession was caused by changing attitudes toward guns by the black community.
The people who boycotted US automotive production first were the car buyers, not the fancy SUV buyers, perhaps because they are the ones who have to work with all kinds of people on the factory floor.
Perhaps it is just a racist attitude that blacks shouldn't have guns, or perhaps some people who think they deserve more equality are committing actual intimidation now that they are armed.
I did think Elio was a good idea but if enough people think that it is not, whether they are racist or not, it may sink the company before it starts.0 -
Maybe the problem was that it was a car that didn't fit the needs of most people. For a commuter car it may have been ok. In my situation I don't have the parking space to have a car that can't do other task 0 -

Around this time last year they had a meeting with people in Lordstown, Ohio, perhaps concerning the old Chevy Cruze plant, but nothing came of it.
It is not motorcycle based but automotive. They were going to use an engine based on an old Geo design but went with an off the shelf engine instead.
Allegedly they are still getting ready to offer a Securitized Token Offering which is a form of cryptocurrency as fundraising but observing many of the same SEC regulations that a stock offering would have to observe, but there is no sign they've gone ahead with that yet.
No one said they were out of business but their website, Facebook, and Twitter haven't been updated in a long time and they were talking about the Securitized Token Offering in 2018.0 -
An engineer who worked for me had one on order- this was around 2014.
I fired the guy a few years later, but I assume he is still waiting on his perfect gas saver.
It seems like if you want one- there are plenty of motorcycles with the very same or similar capabilities for the same or less money and greater performance.

The Ford Focus was cancelled in May of 2018 but dealers still had several of them well into 2019 and were blowing them out at prices not much above a Fiesta. 0 -
I think it is pretty simple Americas needs to make better cars quit out sourcing and running to the government for bail outs and the buyers will come back. 0 -
I don't care what the so called economic experts say, we are in a recession. Blame the Chinese, the media, the feds overreaction or all of the above. Not a lot of people are certain enough about a quick economic recovery to take on more debt by buying a new car or a new house. Quality concerns are a holdover from the past. My current two GM vehicles have only had one trip for warranty work and that was a leaking seal on Judys Equinox air conditioner. I hope these two vehicles hold up as well as the last two did (Colorado, Traverse ) because I had virtually no complaints over the 8-9 years I had them. Everyone can buy what they like but I'll stick with Ford and GM. Most so called “” American car companies “” are no longer owned by Americans and the vehicles are made in Mexico or Canada out if foreign made parts.. The so called “ foreign “ cars are made in states like Georgia and South Carolina and use mostly American made parts .
