    Perhaps slanted ?

PoliticusUSA offers news, commentary, and opinion from a liberal point of view. PoliticusUSA is independent and is not affiliated with any political party or organization.

We explain and analyze the news that matters. PoliticusUSA was founded in February of 2008 by Jason Easley.

PoliticusUSA is fiercely corporate-free political news and analysis. We have grown into being White House and Congressional credentialed journalists and are proud to have become a Reuters publishing partner.

I wasn't able to find any comment from Fox news with a few searches but Washington Post, New York Times, and Reuters reported the story, so it's not made up.

Besides, what about withholding aid from our allies to give himself a political advantage?

We need cred with our allies.  If they're afraid our support is only good until someone needs to win an election, we will lose allies.

SS, should we allow free flow of aid even when our 'allies' are not holding up their end of any aid agreements?  What Trump is doing is just good business, not much political about it.  It's a crappy world to live in if you have to buy you friends.

We have an interest, an interest Trump may be playing with, in countering Russian expansionism.  Giving other countries a little aid may cost us much less in manpower and money than sending our military, if the goal is to keep Russia from conquering country after country.

Besides, why should they be our friend and not Russia's?

There's a question that Trump is tampering with aid to our allies to give himself an undeserved advantage.

Are you proud of the way he's handling it?  Putting pressure on officials and ordering his cabinet not to cooperate with a lawful inquiry?

Isn't it kind of bad when leaders scoff at the law even if your personal interests aren't presently in their crosshairs?

This strikes me as a really naive comment. You don't think every administration hasn't used aid, or the suspension of aid to exert "our" will on their behavior?  You don't think that pressure previously exerted wasn't to place those administrations in an advantageous position in all facets, to include getting re-elected?    Joe Biden is likely one of the most corrupt politicians in modern history, check out the book Profiles in Corruption.  His entire family has benefited from the power and prestige of their VP relative.  There is a huge money laundering scheme involving US tax dollars and Ukraine, involving family members of both political parties.  The "swamp" is being exposed, and if exposing Biden's corruption benefits Trump in his re-election as aside benefit, I am fine with that.   This entire effort to remove Trump, IMO has been orchestrated to cover up the massive fraud that is Ukraine.

    No, it's different now.

If you try to win some geopolitical coup to put your party ahead by promoting this nation's interests, that is a lot different than if you blackmail a country to get dirt on  your enemies.  That's just electioneering.

Since our media is largely run by the left, it's plenty possible they missed a trick reporting when Democrats did what Trump may have done, though.

Maybe they're too afraid of their boss.

Let's take a look at the evidence the Democrats present without any games or pressure or intimidation like we were above the law or something.

Here's the thing...  Trump DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!  There was no quid pro quo, no bribery, no blackmail, no nothin'!  If you happen to score political points when a political rival gets the comeuppance he so richly deserves, so what?   Dude, turn off MSNBC and CNN.  They're gonna make ya crazy.

Perhaps the presidents tweet about Schiff paying for what he has done refers to the dems realizing he is demented buffoon. Perhaps his constituents will vote their buffoon out. Physical threat no, political payback perhaps. Bob

What he wanted to do was petty electioneering not rooting out nefarious activity.  It is the only corruption he went after there.

He may have risked the faith of all our allies in us if he withheld aid for this one little act of muckraking.

the degree of "faith" our allies have  is directly related to the amount of FREE money the are getting.........

*Cheaper than facing the world alone

*Precisely why we shouldn't let the people in charge tamper with it in order to obtain some personal payoff unrelated to our national interests

SS, I'm no longer a Trump fan but you are not paying attention and you are ignoring the beginning of the events you seem bothered with.   These events started with Biden manipulating Ukraine, with threats, for his and his family's benefit.  President Trump requested what Biden stopped be continued.  Biden running for office should not give him or his family a pass from being investigated should an investigation be warranted.    Biden even bragged about doing what he did.
