I would agree with him not taking you seriously. Dinner and a dance?

First date, out to a good place to eat, take her home, walk her to the door then skiddel until the next time.

Do something you actually like to do and share with someone. If you do something just to impress it won't be real.

Comedy Club to lighten the mood and laugh, then a nice dinner.

McDonalds, a fifth of Fireball and a beer chaser at home, possum shank for desert then do what 50 y/p old singles do, go to sleep.

Nice dinner at a place you can talk to each other.  Worked for my wife.
However sometimes I wonder.  She was in college at the time and college food sucked so I kid her that she would have gone out with anybody for a good meal.

    Someone I know was planning a date with a new gal he's seeing.    He's my age....early 50's.

I told him he should take her to build a bear, go bowling and if the night goes right they need to go get matching ankle tattoos.   (He's not taking me seriously.)

So, what do you guys suggest they get out and do????
Thankfully he is not.  Holy balls!

I think some coffee and maybe hit a book store.  Bowling isn't a bad idea, maybe go to the shooting range instead though.

And instead of build a bear... build an AR.

Find something local going on, farmers market, car show, food trucks, etc.

from there maybe an indoor range (only if your friend can shoot), then a restaurant with a bar for a few drinks before dinner.

A young version of me might stack the deck a little. And make sure I had some friends walking around the public venue to bump into who would he really happy to see me...

Speaking of building a bear though I was told that the next time I'm in Helen Georgia I REALLY should stop in to the Cabbage patch hospital. I saw it and passed on it but I've been told by two people its worth seeing especially to kill part of a rainy day

Ease up and ask if the gal likes firearms.  Take her on a high speed run in the truck. She what excites her. Then go out for supper.

    Depends on the weather.
    1) Cheese, sliced apples, crackers and a good bottle of wine while sitting by the river while talking.
    2) Fried bologna sandwiches, cold beer and skipping rocks on the water, while talking.
    3) A boat show or some other fun outing with things that makes you dream/think of doings things, walking and talking.
    4) Hot cocoa, and a clear night with star charts gazing at the sky while talking.
    5) A motorcycle ride, a CD player, a bottle of wine, dancing in the moon light and good conversation.
I found out a long time ago if a gal whats to spend time with you it doesn't matter what you do and if she doesn't want to spend time with you it matters even less.

I asked to see his ankle tattoo today.....he doesn't have one (so I told him his date must not have gone so well.)    :pensive:

I love all the ideas you guys are coming up with.....who knew we had so many thoughtful people on this forum???

Never go to dinner on a first date. Instead, meet somewhere for lunch. Dinner has connotations of something more happening in the evening, while lunch is far more casual (and less expensive). If things work out at lunch, then make a dinner date.

I would prefer Breakfast after the supper meeting. Maybe a quick shower.  After all it was a Date night

I was talking to a woman recently that said she usually had sex on the first date.  She said why waste time on some guy who wasn't good in bed!!!  You got to love a woman like that!!!>:) :p>:)

This time of the year, it's too cold for skinny dipping.  Lunch and ask her what SHE would like to do.  Museum, shoot pool, race go carts (indoor electric kart racing here), round of sporting clays, miniature golf.

I think you should take them both out, your trips never get boring.... or you could at least give them the traverse, it won't have to run out of gas to get them stranded

It's actually closer to Cleveland, GA than Helen, but if you go,  stop at Yonah Burger just north of there on GA 75. Old School burgers and shakes great breakfast too.   Be sure to check out some of the trails on Mount Yonah just east of there.  I hear that the Army Rangers train on the vertical face.

Depends on what he is looking for.

Take her to a nice dinner then let her decide where to go afterwards - church or a porn movie.
