I just wanted to give you a heads up. After your comment that you "hoped Buddy would bite me," the other day - I crated up Buddy to be shipped to you, with instructions to Gnaw on you a little bit. (COD, of course.)
Just be careful when you open the crate, he MAY be in a foul mood. (He was not too happy when I told him the game plan.)
When you are done "playing" with him, ship him back.

I would estimate 85#'s. All muscle.
He is a beast. When he gets angry, it is a sight. Calms down immediately if I say, "It's okay, he is a friend."

Send him down to clear the Yotes! My daughter used to have two Pits one female about 90 pounds and one male about 115 as you said all muscle, She weighed about 100 I worried if they took off in different directions while she was holding the leases they would split her in two! Nice looking dog glad you saved him 0 -

Years ago we used some catch dogs that were Pit/Rhodesian Ridgeback cross.It was in Western NC and Buddy,with his coloring may have come from from that genetic pool.They were very smart and fearless. 0 -

I have often wondered about the hair kinda standing up on the ridge of his back, as you can somewhat see in that one photo of him. It also reminded me of Rhodesian Ridgebacks, every time I noticed/saw it.
Very Smart and Fearless totally describes him. He came from the Boone, NC. Rescue shelter when he was about 9 mo. Old. (Per the Vet.) Found wandering without a collar.

Minor correction - called/referred to as "Lawn Gators."
I am way out in the Country. My dog does not run free. (Ever.) If you come in contact with him, you are well onto my property, after having ignored "No Trespassing" signs.
If I am there, (and I would be) because he is never outside without me monitoring the situation. I can calm him right down by saying "It's Okay, He is a Friend." Otherwise, you are on your own. Molon Labe.
