On the rare occasion I need to, I use a buddy heater and depending on how cold it is I have an electric heater too.

Waste oil heaters are great! Free heat if you have a supply of old oil.
I have one of those fuel oil heaters ,Reddy Heater? When we built our house we got a great deal on concrete block, $1 per block and $1 to lay. So we built our garage out of block. It’s cool in the summer but impossible to heat.

Pex tube embedded in concrete floor. Thermostat turns on pump, water is heated in a Rinnai tank less gas heater.

Kerosene 135k - 85k heater that looks like a torpedo. It does a good job in my 24x56x10 shop but is thirsty. That's ok because the shop is out in a clearing 100 yds back of the house and if it's too cold I don't want to go back there anyway..

I hated being cold when younger , and have accumulated enough heaters to supply a neighborhood from electric to propane to kerosene / diesel . actually I have picked up too many ( hoarding ) can not pass up a deal I have given several away to family and friends pick them up at garage sales and auctions and local sales . some have never been used . I did just hang a 220 vt electric heater in a small addition I added to the pole ban last summer

Our garage is attached to the house, and is heated with a vent from the furnace. My barn has 2 radiant tube heaters running off of propane. I keep the thermostat set at 50° in the cold months. I keep my tractor, my 41 Ford, and my 58 IH A100 pickup in there. I put 6" of insulation in the walls and 14" in the attic. It never gets over 70° in the summer and never under 50° in the winter.
When the HVAC guys ran the ductwork for the furnace they refused to run it to the garage. But they left all the materials so I could run it. 😀

30,000 btu ventless wall heater in my 30x40 insulated garage.
I keep it on low and it keeps the garage about 55 degrees.
It keeps it warm enough if you are working.
Just sitting there drinking a beer and watching tv I'll crank it up a bit.

Cast iron wood stove for the old cement block wood working shop behind the house and GOOD foam blown insulation in addition to a diesel fuel electric torpedeo heater for the farm maintaince shop

i heat my 40x60 shop with 5 wall mounted electric heaters I bought from Northern Tool. Seems to work good.
Have a barrel stove over in the old shop but never use it.

No walls, roof, or floor--Mother Nature determines the temp as she sees fit.

Insulated and finished walls/ceiling. Stays 50ish year round. Will hit 30 when it's -20 outside.
