I've introduced guys to girls and it turned out worse than a shot ankle. Grown men are responsible for themselves. Now if this doesn't teach him the lesson he needs to get a new hobby.

Is a 2011 a new version of the 1911? Sorry to hear about your buddy.

I'm sure you can root around and find reading material to support my opinion.

Yes sir- Specifically a doublestack gun but otherwise 1911.

the company STI has a copy right on 2011- but generally all double stack 1911 style guns are referred to as 2011’s regardless of who built the frame.

I was SO'ing a local IDPA match and had a kid put a round right next to his right pinky toe one time. Instant DQ! Scared the crap outta himself (and me!)! We had a 'discussion' about not putting your finger on the trigger until you had your sights on the target. I was told later that they could hear me 4 bays down.

To his credit the kid showed up at the next match and did much better.

Running with a cocked and loaded gun in your hand with your finger on the trigger is the measure of a real idiot. If he don't die from that wound to the foot he'll eventually find a way to kill himself one way or the other. I just hope he doesn't take someone else with him when he goes.

I have seen several people shoot themselves by accident(4), all had their finger on the trigger when they should not have.

All but one had 1911's too. They were all trying to go too fast.............slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

2 shot themselves on the draw(1911), one fell down and shot himself(SIG 226) and the other guy shot himself transitioning from pistol to rifle(Re-holster a 1911).

I have seen so many ND's its not even funny. I watched a CIA guy have 2 ND's one right after the other at a clearing barrel. 1st ND was his SIG P228 next was a Walther PPK in a ankle holster, both times he Racked the slide then dropped the mag and pulled the trigger.............I was standing there getting ready to clear my guns before going into the compound and I looked at him and told him he was the dumbest SOB I have seen in a long time and should not even be allowed to have a weapon. I forgot when he went to clear his M4 One of my guys grabbed it and cleared for him😁

I saw a guy have an ND with a MK 19 Grenade launcher😳

Yep the grenade went flying into a FOB and exploded but no one was hurt.......

I could go on for hours

I hope the guy learned his lesson and is not hurt too bad. There is a lot of bones in the ankle and a lot to go wrong in there.

"Gotta keep the booger hook off the bang switch!" When I was in 'Nam, a couple of Marines were playing graba__ in a perimeter bunker. I helped haul one of them to the morgue. He was shot in the face. The other one was court-martialed.
