BOOM
Heard a loud boom a few minutes ago followed by reverberations. Then I heard sirens within a minute. Have no idea what caused it or if the sirens were related. I did see one ambulance go east on the highway. For a vehicle crash to be that loud it would have to be close and one isn't.
Curious, someone could have been blowing some rock for something. I may never know.

I used to live on the river in Knoxville, TN and the University of Tennessee agricultural depart owned the property directly across the river from me. One night or morning rather at 2:00 AM there was an explosion that shook my whole house and sent me straight up in the air wondering what had just happened??
I did some research and found out that the University of Tennessee was the one responsible for the explosion and they were blowing up some kind of chemical to dispose of it. Yeah right in my backyard.
So I called and got a hold of the Administrator and ask him just what the hell he thinks he doing? He said it wasn't anything dangerous. I said so you had to do it at 2:00 AM. Why would you have to hide something that's not dangerous. I told him the next time he did that to do it in his own backyard if it's not dangerous and I also told him if it happened again the next time it won't be a phone call you receive it'll be me in person. I think he understood that I was serious because it never happened again.
I also meant to add that my wife said he'll probably call the cops and tell them you were threatening him. I told her yeah right...he's going to call the cops and tell them a citizen was threatening him, an employee of the University of Tennessee, for blowing up chemicals in the middle of the night?? I bet the EPA and the University President, the city council and the mayor would like to know more about that. He's not calling anybody and he sitting there holding a tight one hoping I'm not the one making the phone calls.
