Tennessee, the patron state of shooting things.

You couldn’t have made a better choice.

Howdy neighbor. Welcome to Tennessee. Our place is only about 85 miles SW of you near Knoxville. That is, when we're at home. Rest of the time we're in Georgia or Alabama.

Just be warned don't go up on the mountain in the extreme NE part of Tennessee. There's a crazy man that lives up there with the meanest pitbull you've ever seen. No telling what that crazy man might do especially to farm animals. You can't slip up on him either 'cause he never sleeps. 😉

Yeah he is but you don't ever want him to know that. If he thinks you like him then he gets all talkative and wants to just run on and on. He'll start bragging about his back porch, then he'll want to brag about how much firewood he can carry up the steps to his house before his back blows out. Then next thing you know you'll be having to listen to his stories about trips to the Taco Bell. 😁

Tennessee has no income tax but does have a "hall tax" -- that is, a 6% tax on interest and dividends, which is specifically allowed by the state constitution. Tennessee also has a 7% sales tax. Income taxes are a contentious issue in Tennessee.

Hall tax being phased out, gone in 2021, 2% for 2019

Biggest tax here is sales tax.

We'll be heading to TN here in the next few years. Sooner depending how fast the wife can get a job and how fast VA goes into the shitter. I have a SIL in Greenville.

Good for you, 21 acres gives you plenty of room for a place and still have nice bit of forest

Lots of members in TN, glad to hear that and thanks for the warm welcome! I love it here. Hoping to build the shop house on my land and set up some shooting areas and ATV trails.
