Stihl 2 in 1 Sharpener.
Thanks for the heads up guys. Went online viewing them and various prices, after we discussed them a week or so ago. Average was $39-$49. Walmart had them for $19.99. As much as I hate to buy from them - I went that route. They confirmed my order and sent me an E-mail that it had shipped within hours.
I did notice that the very next day Walmart went up to $49 on them. A miss list, price error? (In any case, they honored my order at the price listed. It was delivered within a week.
I just came in from the workshop where I had my Chainsaw in my large Workshop vice. (Recommended.) I could tell the difference immediately. Very easy to utilize. As it is wet and rainy outside, I am not going to try it out today, but I can tell it is going to make a huge difference.
I appreciate the Heads up for this sharpening device.

I bought one at a local dealer. One of the best tool purchase I ever made. Touch ups while in the field are quick too, takes less than five minutes and the saw keeps eating.

Curious Scout5, how do you keep it in place, since this a two handed tool. Do you have someone holding it in place?
Part of my previous sharpening error/s was not putting my chainsaw in my Workshop vice to keep it stationary. I was using a hand file and the SWAG method. (Never a good thing.) I am sure i could have done a Much better job with the hand file if my Chainsaw had been in the vice. This is still (Stihl) head and shoulders better than what I was doing/utilizing.

I especially like that you can open it up, and change out files. I smiled when I discovered/realized that little fact. Utilizing two hands and a Vice to sharpen is key. IMHO.
At the Sawmill I used to work at, we utilized a Stihl MS660, with probably a 36" bar. We/I sharpened it in a large work vice exclusively. Never freehand. (That is the key IMHO.) This would have been a great aid.

I use one hand on the tool. I've sharpened a lot of saws through the years, never really had a problem. My saws sharpen and cut fine this way. This tool is faster and easier than others and keeping the drag teeth set right keeps the chain cutting the same all the time. Now, filing drag teeth down with a flat file is easier if you use a vice, but with this tool I don't need it as it takes care of it as you go and you're not removing much at a time.

After having watched the video.
Not helpfull. As discussed, you need a sharp saw to begin with, to utilize this technique. If I had/was using a couple saws, then maybe.

Echo makes a stump vice too.
I think the one I have was made by Husky years ago. They are nice to have, small and work well.

This thing made a HUGE difference. Chainsaw zips through wood like butter. I really appreciate the recommendation guys. Best sharpening system I have ever used, hands down. Love this thing.
Supposed to get down in the single digits (not tonight) but for the next 4-5 days. Spent some time cutting and bringing in some wood.

They work well. Just don't loan it out.. haven't seen mine since.
