Have to say about the Iranians apparently shooting down their plane? Anyone hear anything?

It's not apparent anymore, Iran has admitted they shot it down. That's the second one for Ukraine shot down by Russian provided SA missiles. How about Canada? They lost 63 citizens on that jet.

Probably nothing much they have enough problems as it is.
The Canadians should get on board with DJT's sanctions and demand reparations from Iran for the family's who were killed, other than that they cannot do anything they are unable to project power like the US.

They couldn't back in the 70s. I had several as student pilots and the tradition of buying your instructor a bottle of good booze upon solo did not apply to Iranian students.
They did better than that, actually. I got several trays of pistachios. That doesn't sound like much, but these were unlike any pistachios you have ever seen. They were approximately the size of my thumb, arranged artfully on a tray two feet in diameter.
And flown in overnight direct from Tehran to Columbus Mississippi. Absolutely priceless. Well, nearly. They had to cost several thousand dollars - and that when gas was 50 cents a gallon, for perspective.

Although they should - I doubt the Iranians will step up to the plate, in that regards. (Unless) Being forced to do so. Personally, I do not see that happening.

if they did pay off any of their own iranians they would just take it back in some kind of family tax or such, families would never get to keep any money paid out.....
