Happy Ratification day

Today Jan 14 is the day the American revolutionary war officially ended in 1784(Fighting mostly stopped in Apr 1783). The treaty of Paris was ratified by our Congress.

  The reason the Ratification took so long was because the winter of 1783-4 was a bad one and only 6 delegates showed up(9 were needed). Tomas Jefferson played a big part in the proclamation.

  Just think back then how long it would take to get the word out between the 13 new states and all the outlying areas east of the Mississippi that had settlers.
