PD Chief - came up from PO, just took a typical Baltimore type mayor for $250, 000 for harassment and discrimination.
Yeah the taxpayers get the bill but they elected the white hating racist.

Spent some time in the Inner Harbor, back in the middle/early 80's. The Aquarian/Seaquarium is World Class. (Minor in Marine Biology.) Have been there multiple times, back in the 90's.
I believe the restaurant we ate at was Vesuvius. Wrapped grape leaves. Good stuff. Sending off a Girl in the Army, we had been living with. Headed over to Germany. Hooked backed up with her in a couple years after her tour was done. (Another story.) Good times.

I live about 15 miles from Baltimore and I work in Baltimore. Have for most of my adult life. Areas that I visit (outside sales) are industrial and I don't see the crime/guns as depicted in the news. My family and I visited the inner harbor back in October before my SIL and daughter shipped off to Spain and it was clean and well patrolled. Cut thru town to eat at Jimmys Seafood before we headed out. Now this is during the day on a weekday but most of my experiences are like that. I seldom venture in at night anymore.
One of my favorite Bmore stories was during the summer about 15 years ago. I was using my wifes car and she had mine as her AC had gone out. It was about 3PM on North Ave (not a friendly place at any time) and an Elementary school was letting out. It was hot as blazes that day and I had the windows down some to try to let some air in. I had the oldies station on pretty load. I was waiting for the large group of kids to cross the street and it dawned on my. Blaring out of my car was Elvis Presleys "In the ghetto". I pulled away once the crowd cleared and laughed my butt off on my way to the next stop.

Mark, I'm about 25-30 miles north of there, spent most of my adult life policing those streets and back alleys, it's exponentially worse than is shown in the media. Daytime car jackings and shootings are becoming the norm. Between the universally hated Consent Decree (Thanks Obama), an agency hundreds of officers short, the feckless occupants of City Hall and the State's Atty it's an open city. As the famous line from a movie goes "...no law at all". Avoid this place like the plague.

I have no doubt that things are as bad or worse as reported. I'm not on the front lines. The States attorney is openly anti cop and has a major black is right chip on her shoulder, the commissioner seems overwhelmed and the politicians are corrupt. The city is in a horrible condition. It was my personal observation.
