Car problem question.....
My Traverse has a new thing.....oh joy.....just tonight, when I went out to drive it to dinner with my Aunt I got in and this LOUD noise started. It sounded like an electronic meltdown of some kind....my key was NOT in the ignition, just opened the door, sat down and it started blaring away inside the car (not the alarm.)
I put the key in, started it and the noise quit. It drives fine, but nothing with any sound works.....no radio, no phone through the car, not even the little tinkle noise from the turn signals.
No check engine light either. So, what is this new and exciting adventure I am about to be on????

Sounds like you ran power through and fried the speakers in the car.

I've busted speakers before and they just sound terrible...this is no sound at all, would that be the same?

Wow....so this is another issue that is "common" to the Traverse! (Does this ever end for this model car?)

Sounds like the cause of the problem is usually, water/moisture coming in the cars driver side door. The water runs down the door frame and into the area shown in the video.
Fixes:
Find and fix source of leak. (door gasket?)
Allow to dry out completely
Replace blown fuses
Replace blown speaker
Replace control module

Ugh.....my son just called and said he has to put his car in the shop too. Its like the universe said "you know who hasn't had to juggle cars and figure out a mystery of some kind in a while?"
He will need mine so he can get to work while his is in the shop. Maybe he can figure out the fuse that is blown while he has mine. Hopefully his isn't a major ordeal.

Its still here.....I may have to drive it around for a bit if he has my car and I have to go anywhere. Hopefully, my son's is a simple fix.

I have to second the Toyota opinion. My 2010 Corolla, bought new, has 217,000 miles on it. Other than the obvious (tires, brakes, batteries, plugs, filters, oil changes and front end alignments) I have had one repair during all those miles...…….one wheel bearing.
This was my first Toyota. I wish I had started driving Toyota's 40 years ago. I would have saved a whole bundle of money. I made certain my wife is driving a 2012 Toyota Corolla and we are having the same results with the 2012 as we have had with the 2010. The difference is the 2012 has 110,000 miles.
I have punished the 2010 Corolla. For about 6 years I had a vending machine business. Twice a week I would load 16 to 19 cases of 20 ounce Pepsi products in the back seat, passenger front seat and trunk and head out to service my machines. I've hauled bags of sand, cement, cement blocks, bricks and lumber! That isn't even mentioning I go down the Interstate at a minimum of 80 MPH!! Like I said, I have punished that poor car. I REALLY LOVE MY TOYOTAS!!!!!😁

Ok, so here is how my morning went.....I got a call to go buy some guns from a local store that needed some cash, so I got in and headed their way. Its a habit on warm days that I tip the sun roof up and turn on the air, so when I did that it revealed a NEW problem....the sun roof is stuck in the tilted up position and will not close. (Good grief)
I hoped it was just a switch, so when I got back I asked someone to help me figure this out so we could get it closed. He popped the panel down from the ceiling and did some fiddling (took a wire and bypassed the switch) and it still wouldn't close. So, its got to go in the shop. I gave them a call and they said they could look at it tomorrow.
So, this meant I had to move the Camaro out of the covered spot and put the Traverse in there. This is when I learned a SQUIRREL has made a nice little home in my car!!! OMG....there are nuts in the trunk, chewed wires in a couple places, and the booger has taken stuffing from my seats and made itself a big nest!!! I swear....this is the MONDAYEST Monday I've had in some time.

Sounds like you are truly automotive jinxed. Hope it turns out to be a simple fix. This is why I won't buy a used "modern" vehicle. To many electronic thingamajigs and doodads that can go wrong. Best of luck. Bob
