Mike Leach is out as HC at WSU
It's a sad day in the Pac12, folks.
Ahoy, SEC: Miss. St. pirates Leach from Wazzu
Mike Leach, who has guided Washington State to a school-record 43 wins and five bowl games over the past five seasons, has left the Cougars to become head coach at Mississippi State.

He did not fare well with recruiting defensive players at WSU, but should have no problem doing so in the heart of the south.

kimi I beg to differ. The season before last saw some great D players show their skills... a couple even went to the NFL.

You might be right, Randy. That was just my immediate thought.

You will have zero shortage for entertainment. Plus, he really is a good coach. I miss him already.

He might have gotten a better offer or a contract came to an end. Not personal just business.

I pulled for Leach to be successful at Wazoo every year. His style of football changed a bit from what he did at Texas Tech. The Red Raiders generally always had a good running threat which is likely a big reason why his record there was better. I don't care for 3 and 1/2 hour football games...and the BIg-12 has their share of them too. I believe that will change where he is at right now, but only time will tell. I wish both teams the best of good fortune with their programs.

Yes I do. One daughter graduated from Miss State the other daughter from Ole Miss. As parents we enjoyed the atmosphere at Miss State better.

That's really great. You folks must have a screaming time when they play one another!!! 😂 Both campuses are nice, but I like the Starkville setting the best...at least from the highway, which was as close as we got to there while doing genealogy and traveling with the wife back in '04//5?
I still have an incredible amount of relatives that I have never met that live in Mississippi. They were all over the state, literally, when it began to open up from being Indian territory back in the 1820s and 30s, from Wilkinson, to Oktibbeha, to Carroll, Tippah, and Warren counties.

Look at that. Mike Leach leaving WSU is bringing folks together.
