The difference between being a victim and a survivor is often a low level of situational awareness. You can't be a super-spy, watchful and paranoid every day. But I am more watchful than the average American. - Barry Eisler
Awareness is the state or ability to perceive, to feel, or to be conscious of events, objects, or sensory patterns. In this level of consciousness, sense data can be confirmed by an observer without necessarily implying understanding. More broadly, it is the state or quality of being aware of something. In biological psychology, awareness is defined as a human's or an animal's perception and cognitive reaction to a condition or event. It often involves a sixth perceptual sense and marks the difference between predator and prey.

It's funny that you should mention that Joe.
I was out riding my Quad last week at the Sand Dunes and thought no one was near me. I came across a pile of Brass and stopped to pick it up. I jumped off and started picking them up while the whole time yacking out loud to myself about finding them! About 5 minutes in, I looked up and there was a kid taking pics. of his ATV only about 20 ft. from me!
The look on his face told me that he had just crossed paths with a Senile Old Man pick up bullets in the desert!
Lesson learned...No matter where you are, there they are!0 -

Maybe the look on his face was because he heard you yacking out loud about picking up bullets when it was actually brass cartridges you were picking up.0 -
I talk to myself all the time when alone (or think I am). When caught I just tap my right ear and say, "Am I coming in loud and clear?"
With all of the tech out there today, most think I have some ear gizmo phone or ??
I try to spot surveillance equipment (hidden cameras) wherever I go. They seem to be just about everywhere!0
