So, how can you make money selling a gun for $.01?
I just saw this auction:
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/846453099
It appears that the dealer sold a really nice pistol with a $.01 starting price, & a $.01 BIN price, & a buyer bought the gun for the $.01 BIN price. I just can't figure out why a seller would do that. Could the seller have made a mistake in his listing? Was the seller just doing a transfer for a private sale, & using his software package to document & track the transaction?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Neil it was relisted and sold for over 400. Mistakes happen 0 -
Mistakes do happen. Look closely at some really cheap auction prices and they make up for it in outrageous shipping charges. 0 -
It probably didn't have the original box. 0 -
Probably 15 years ago now I won a Beretta Silver Pigeon shotgun for $600, which was the reserve price.
For whatever reason I was the guns only bid & the guy was pissed. He told me he would sell it for $1,600 or report ME to GB. I said I wasn?t giving him any more than I bid it was a used gun with exactly 2 pictures & it was up to him.
Much to my surprise after he & I had 2 or 3 discussions he sold it to me for the $600.
I shot it for about 2 years and sold it to help pay for my masters degree. I got $1,700 for it
