How did the deal on the S&W 10mm turn out with the NR seller??

    HaHa. I actually had just thought about it earlier and decided to catch up here (haven't hardly been on since then) before I searched for that post.

    The seller was a bit of a joke but The gun arrived as pictured. It doesn't have any scratches per se, but it has a rougher finish than I expected. Almost like it either wasn't polished out, or someone tried light sanding maybe in order to hide marks or try to reduce the reflectivity. It is most notable on the barrel and in the pictures, only one that really shows much is maybe number 8: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/845766261 I thought it was more from lower resolution. I took some with my camera that really shows it. Maybe one of these days I'll either set up my server again to host images like I did years ago, or try one of the free ones.

    Every question I asked, or when asking for something simple like a tracking number, the answer was always short with nothing more. Plus, after asking for it 3 times, he never sent the tracking number. I ask for it more on new sellers, but also so I don't have to keep bugging my FFL. He still charges me what he did when I started going there ~15 years ago, even though his rates have increased. So, it turned out he shipped it fairly quickly, but it ended up sitting at the FFL for 3 weeks.

    Regardless, I appreciate the heads up. It seems like a good deal for an early one. I will probably shoot it, but just to verify function then it'll probably live out my life in the safe with a bunch of stablemates in the same caliber. 8-)

    Sounds like it was a decent transaction then. Did either one of you leave feedback for the other?

    I've had two transactions. The other was good and left a glowing feedback. This one I still gave him an A+ but it was basically "item as pictured and described". Even though I emailed them after I left feedback, I haven't gotten any from either. I've been noticing a growing trend the past few years where sellers won't post feedback regardless.
