Browning BLR 81 in 308 **UPDATE**
Had a chance to play with a Browning 308 lever gun today, made in 1981 (steel receiver) Man, I really like the feel of that rifle.
I may need to get one.
Ok, I did get one, I traded for my mini 14. Money wise he "may" have gotten the better deal but quality wise I definitely came out on top.
I never wanted the mini 14 in the first place, I got in a trade ..... for a song.
Anyway, happy as a clam right now.

i bought a lightweight in 7-08 the other day, it is a real pleasure to shoot. 0 -
Cousin had one in 22-250. It was beautiful and nice to shoot. I finally found a 223 Henry Longranger. Best "bolt" rifle I've found for shooting lefthanded. If I bought a 308, I'd be tempted for another Henry.
Highly recommend it for lefthanded over any bolt rifle.0 -
I also have one in 308 and it is a sweet rifle. I've been very happy with it. 0 -
I had a blr but didn't like the trigger. I suppose a good gunsmith could probably do something about that. I did have a chance to handle the henry longranger, seemed to have a better trigger pull. 0 -
I have one in 7mm Rem Mag biggest complaint is with that 24"barrel the length of the rifle is a pain in some of the stands I hunt out of 0 -
I have a Model 88 in 308 and I love it, in fact it is the last 2 of my hunting guns that I have not sold. I have it and a 788 in 308 that I will keep just in case I decide to start hunting again. 0 -
My cousin hunts with a BLR 270 with a Vortex scope.
No deer has a chance within 250 yards or more!
His only complaint is the trigger. He is now used to it, but not fond of it!
He has spoken to a number of gunsmiths (one master gunsmith) and none want anything to.do with working on the trigger.........0 -

Neil Jones is a name I've heard mentioned a lot for trigger jobs for the BLR 0 -
I had a BLR in 308 but traded it for a Ruger no 1 international. I love the no 1 but ....... 0 -
I bought one nib in 32-20. Put five rounds through it and now I'm going to sell it. Well, maybe, or maybe not. Love the look and feel of it. Bought the high grade model. 0 -

I've thought about one of these on 7mm-08. Good all around catridge/caliber on a good platform.0
