Long ago I watched a guy dismantling an ink pen. When asked what the heck he was doing, he said "I need the little ball from the "ball point" for a detent in ??? (can't remember what he was actually trying to fix)".

I've lost detent balls several times over the years and it almost always sounded the death knell of whatever part due to lack of available replacement.

Detent balls are a handy item when taking guns apart.

If you have ever lost one by just noticing that it's gone is not a good thing. which way did it go.

it amazes me the types of things you can buy anymore from your home that were almost impossible to find a few years ago. detent balls. building my daughter a beach cruiser bike and had and old three speed internal hub wheel i decided to use. almost finished with project when i lost the detent ball out of the shifter. also my old john deere tractor has been missing the detent ball for the throttle for quite awhile. decide to look on line and lo and behold i found a 500 piece kit of assorted sizes of steel balls for less than 15.00 with shipping. all i'll need forever, i may even start a business repairing items that need the detent ball replace.

Give us a link to your kit???? or a better hint)

I searched and did not see a good kit.

well i may not have ordered a kit that is suitable to some of you guys. since i lost the two detent balls that i currently need i do not know the exact size so i took a chance and decided to order a set with eight sizes and can be ordered in either metric sizes or standard sizes. also looking at the metric sizes and the standard sizes im not sure it really makes a difference. i just went to the "A" web site and picked one. im sure i will find a use and $16.00 is not going to break me.

Neither Amazon or eBay auction firearms, which means that they are not direct competitors to GB. Their names can be mentioned in the forum.

Was that the day you got married and your wifee put yours in her purse.

I seen quite a few guys now days that their wiffee and/or girl friend carry his gonads in her purse and if he gets little out of line she just gives her purse a squeeze.
