Nine years later, police mining of social media is widespread — as is opposition to the practice. In addition to CPD, Oracle documents and SlideShare decks posted by former employees say that Endeca has been used by police in Argentina, Finland, and the United Arab Emirates, along with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Oracle is far from the only company in the market. During last summer’s George Floyd protests, police turned to Dataminr, another In-Q-Tel investment, to analyze demonstrators’ tweets. CPD, which works with the Federal Bureau of Investigation on a special task force charged with monitoring social media, has also used social media mining software made by Geofeedia, LexisNexis, and Pathar. Police across the United States have plugged images culled from social media into Clearview AI’s facial recognition engine.

I actually have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand it appears that big brother is watching. On the other hand nothing posted on the internet is private. If by data mining they can prevent some of the problems we had last summer maybe it can be a good thing. To remain private we will be reduced to sending messengers to communicate in person. That is the way ISIS and the other terror organizations seem to do it and perhaps they are smarter than our liberal radicals. Bob

Your going to have the most persuasive surveillance state That has ever been created. Right now they go after the main actors they need and want to capture like at the Temple of Democracy in D.C. military bases etc... but they will eventually be able to coral all the bad guys if they have 4k or better cameras in place with 5G transmission net with Artificial intelligence!
You can bet when The Star link 5G system is in place with all the satellites operational that the net will be complete and massive monitoring of most human endeavors in the public. Let's say by 2025 you think?
Funny How Elon Musk rants about A.I. but only if it's becomes self aware and takes over but not if it's controlled by the elites to instill order by the rule of law by a legislated body of so called free elected authorities with Super-Pacs and big money with lobbyist then it's fine.
