Praises given

I've asked a couple times here for people to pray for rough situations, and you've always come through. There aren't enough thank-you's for what you've done for my family. 🙏

So I figured maybe now it's time to give a praise report and let you know what mighty and amazing things God has been doing in our lives.

My daughter's baby has the worst case of hydrocephaly her pediatrician has ever seen. Ultrasound scans show the brain is squished completely over to the side of the skull and the rest is full of fluid. That's pretty devastating. I've been feeling such amazing faith that everything is going to be perfectly, exactly right with the little one and that God would hold his head and his brain in his strong hands and protect it. Then we learned of the hydrocephaly and how his feet were starting to "club" inward, a sign of brain damage. That just took the wind completely out of my sails and wiped me out. I was sorta wandering around in a daze for most of a week from that.

Then my daughter had another doctor visit. But before the visit she and my son-in-law went down to the church and found the pastor in the parking lot heading in for a meeting, and they asked him to bless the baby. So he stopped everything, put on his robes and blessed that baby up one side and down the other, out there in front of God and everyone in the parking lot. Then he sent them on their way and they went to the latest doc visit for more scans. And the scans, after that blessing, show NO CLUBBED FEET.

I just can't quit shaking my head and smiling. This has been such a roller coaster of emotion, and I've been reading a lot of Job lately. Then I got to Job 38 and there it was.

"Who is this who darkens my counsel with words without knowledge?

"Brace yourself like a man and I will question you and you will answer me."

"Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?"

"Who marked off its dimensions? Who laid the measuring line across it?"

"On what were its footings set? Who laid its cornerstone, while the morning stars sang together

and all the angels shouted for joy?"

I've been doubting God and speaking words without knowledge. Where was I when he was planning out and creating the entire heavens and earth? All the morning stars could see his works, and the angels all shouted for joy, and I was worried that he was unaware or didn't have a plan for the baby? It's an absolute miracle the baby's feet aren't clubbed any more, and that happened when he received God's blessing.

Boy, some day I hope to finally learn the length and depth and width of God's love for us. On Easter morning we listened to Max Lucado talking about the disciples in the storm on the Sea of Galilee and Jesus was asleep in the back of the boat. Finally they woke him up and his first words were, "Why are you afraid?" The same thing could be said now... why am I afraid? God knows. He laid all this out. He planned it. Maybe he's going to use this miracle to make massive changes in my kids. I don't know, and I don't need to know. I just need to know God is on his throne.
