High Wall 22 Hornet question
I just acquired a High Wall chambered in 22 Hornet that is stamped with the Springfield Armory SA 10-31 across the barrel just behind the front sight. 22 Hornet is stamped on the L/S of the barrel in front of the receiver. The butt plate is a flat steel Trapdoor with horizontal lines. There is no serial number or other markings on the gun. My question is was this rifle produced by Springfield Armory?. I'm assuming the 10-31 means Oct 1931?

'sounds like' someone threaded & rechambered and installed a m-2 (.22 long rifle) barrel on the old winnie. the lower tang 'should' have a ser. #

As stated by MikeW, it is probably a M2 Springfield Training rifle barrel rechambered to .22 Hornet. This was fairly commonly done in "the old days."
