I had one of these 1978 Waggoneers, black and silver with red leather. One of the best beach trucks ever.

    I had a 57 Chevy pick up,same color and condition as the one in the picture but mine was 2 wheel drive with a 235 CI inline 6.I bought it when old pick ups were cheap for about 300 bucks,drove it for 3 years and could not believe it when someone offered me 3000 bucks for it.All this happened in the mid to late 70s.

    my SIL many years ago had a jeep Wagoneer at the time she was maybe 18 , my FIL called me on day ask if I could help it had quit moving and they had no idea what happened it was in a parking lot from her last trip

    so I went along could not see any thing odd or leaking I looked it all over then found a lever under or close to it front driver seat that had put it in neutral she must have bumped it while getting out . easy fix , but I had no idea it was there until I starting going over the truck and found it by accident .

    I , as I am sure many of you have a list of vehicles we would love to have back now . when younger I had one option sell or trade in what I was driving to get something else . sad ending to a lot of rare cars I had

    Bought one of these right out of the service. Chick and cop magnet! Got married, sold it to buy something a bit more adult oriented. 115 MPH top end, but didn't take long to get there. Kid I sold it to rolled it 5 or 6 times after 4 months. He survived, car didn't.
