Yugoslavian or Zastava Shotguns
There is a company in Serbia (formerly Yugoslavia) that manufactures the Zastava rifles and pistols. The formerly manufactured shotguns. A company Zastava USA now handles the brand, and as they were imported by Century Arms, the parent company in Serbia refers every inquiry to one or the other of those two companies.
If anyone has a Zastava 12 ga. double barrel side by side or over under shotgun, have you encountered any problems with the action? There are some anecdotal reports of firing pins breaking, or the action not opening easily or cleanly.

I try to only give reference to personal experience, so as you mentioned the firing pins are prone to break. Just try finding a replacement. My experience, would not recommend. On the other hand, I have had excellent results from the Tristar products, Turkish made firearms.

I have never owned 'Tristar' - but I have Savage - Weatherby - & - Yildiz - all made in Turkey. No complaints about any of them. But my FEG - made in Hungary - 16 gauge - SXS - double trigger - ejector - is a better made machine. Best Regards - AQH

I don't think Zastava has had shotguns for sale since the early 1990's. CZ's shotgun lineup is made by Huglu in Turkey, and the only Turk made shotgun I would own.

Couple years ago a friend acquired a CZ99 .22 rifle which proved to be beautifully made and a tack-driver, but had ejection issues. Not having online access, he asked me to research the gun. It proved to not be Czech as he suspected, but made in Serbia by Zastava. It didn't help my research to learn that they produced a semi-auto pistol with the same model number. Remington imported and catalogued the rifle as the model 5 in 2006. Didn't find further info or a parts source at the time. Your own efforts at finding answers may be similarly convoluted..... Just sayin'.
