Celebrating my first auction win
After hundreds of bids submitted on GunBroker, I finally got my first win this afternoon; a CardSharp credit card sized folding knife. Still no success on actual firearms yet, but in the meantime I can poke the bejeezus out of some feral junk mail envelopes. And it only cost me one penny! (plus $10 shipping..)

Congratulations. May your luck turn to the good for firearms.

Congrats but don't take that to a gunfight...Joking

Perhaps bidding more than a penny will help you win a gun auction.

Don't forget it is in your wallet going through airport security, they keep them. Long story!

Key to winning a GB auction, bid higher than previous bidder and often , never fails.
Unless it is a buy it now offer, they just hit buy it now.

Right dunbarboyz, I went through the Indy airport security about 15 years ago and they stopped me. I had a keychain with a molded plastic model if a Glock about 3/4" long. They wouldn't let me pass until I put it back in my car or gave it to them. Some jerk is probably carrying it today.

We have a fellow that mans the door at the courthouse here, most county offices are inside. I got enough metal in me to start a good scrap yard. He all but frisks me. One of my employees pulls the wool over him every time he goes throught the detector. He carries a key about 2 inches long, it opens up like pocket knife and has a 2 inch blade. Tosses it in the tray, walks through he scanner, LEO hands him the key and away he goes.

Your bids are all 1 cent, aren't they?
Well, I once got a box of .22 ammo for a penny, but still lost out on the $15 shipping. It was a box of Win. Boy Scout ammo worth about ten bucks or so.

Congrats
just a reminder look at the shipping or ask .
I was looking at auction ( another site ) the seller was reasonable on price but had 1400.00 shipping 😮
I emailed the seller obvious type O ( I am a expert on that ) he said he deals with a "higher class of bidders " being funny thanked me and reset to 14.00

I kind of feel sorry for the seller. I have been in his shoes a time or two with penny auctions.

I'll have you know I bid perfectly reasonable prices (in the going rate of the late 1800's).

Yeah there's this annoying pattern that keeps happening where people bid a higher dollar amount than me, really makes it difficult to win any auctions on this site. Most of the time the item sells for a higher amount than the suggested retail price, and then my reaction is: https://i.imgur.com/mezafUO.mp4

Just like with the drug dealers, the first one is cheap 😁
