How do you know he was running away? He may have been moving to cover behind his car in order to re-engage the officer from a safer position. He had just been shooting at a cop, he still had the gun in his possession, he has already shown himself to be a danger. Would you let him get away or stop him there? I think the officer did exactly what needed done and thank God that he was unhurt in the incident.

Yes. If the perp is a danger to the public, it don't matter if he is running away or filling out his application for college, he gets shot.
Opening fire on the officer, plus his prior bad acts earned him the privilege of achieving room temperature.
Good shooting officer, good tactics, now you just have to live with the memory of taking a life for the rest of your life.

Yes the shooting was legit! The suspect running away or not was a felon eluding after attacking the officer with a gun. The officer had no idea if he still had a gun. He justly returned fire protecting himself and the public from an attacker with obvious murderous intent.
The face plant by the DRT guy was epic. He will no longer be an issue for our fair society.

I have never shot anybody. However, I don't think I would need any counseling if I were the cop who shot that guy.
I think I would be patting myself on the back for taking out some trash.

As I was watching that video my thoughts were focused on how little protection you have if you are on a cycle following an SUV or other car. Those thoughts were confirmed when the butt hole popped out shooting and the officer bailed off.

For those that seemed to have missed it- the narration states the motor officer was equipped with an AR 15- that the perp was trying to remove from the bike.
