Who knows, we got no snakes here. I can definitively say it’s not a bear.

Looks like a Mongrolian Cobra to me. Just a juvenile, not lethal yet.

DeKay's is right. They don't get very big, and they don't bother anyone. Harmless it is, and I've never let a snake, or any other critter, cause me to crap myself.

No, but I was never a little girl...😈

I was never a "little girl".

Lived in my grandfathers old home place for several years. The old house had more black snakes than you could shake a stick at lived with use. We would find them inside the house, hanging out side the house, in the autos, just about every where you could think of. There was an old half dead oak tree at the edge of or our property that must have been a "den " tree for them, you would see dozens of them sunning all over it on a warm spring day.

Big barn that we hung tobacco in, blackie hung around there also, and plenty of them to.

Moving a piece of heavy equipment one day and a black water pipe roller out from under the dash, truck was parked near the barn, first thought was dad must have been working on the truck. NOOOOOPE. The pipe was about 5 feet long and moved quite well on it's own. I eased the truck to a slow stop, opened the door, blackie followed me out, over the fuel tank he went and off below the bank.

I can tell you more snake tales than you could ever imagine, and never had to clean my drawers.

And just so all you folks that think snakes will keep rats and mice away form the area where they are at, it ain't so.

We were over run with the 4 legged vermin to say the least.

    Buldging eyes, non-Diamond shaped head.

    Need to see it's teeth.

Can you get more pics, like maybe with it's mouth open and smiling? (pet or rub it on the top of the head to get it too smile)

What is that it's laying in? Is that a big spider web or ??????

When I was a paramedic we had two medics, Rick and Ron, who were real dumb rednecks and who hated all snakes. They would come back to the barracks bragging about how they swerved the ambulance to run over a black snake.

My partner Dwight had a Biology degree and we liked snakes. We wouldn't even kill a rattlesnake, if we were out deer hunting and saw a rattlesnake, we just gave him a wide berth and went on our way.

One day, Dwight and I were out hunting and we found a 4 foot black snake in the road, it had been run over and killed but very little damage. We knew that "C" shift was working at the EMS, Ricky and Ron were on duty. We went over to the hospital and 5M9 was parked at the ER ramp. So Rick and Ron were inside, in the ER, dropping off a patient and would soon be leaving.

We got a 3 foot piece of monofilament fishing line, we opened the driver's door to 5M9, we coiled up the dead snake on the driver's seat, and tied the clear line to his neck, and tied it to the door handle. Then we went across the parking lot and sat in our pickup to wait. In five minutes, here came Rick and Ron, probably headed to McDonalds for a burger. Rick flung open the driver's door to the ambulance and the big black snake was flung out right at Rick's fat belly.

Rick didn't just hate snakes he was also scared of them. You should have seen him dancing with that big snake flailing around his legs. I never heard a guy scream so loudly.
