Turkey season
Going to miss it this year. Told my little brother he needed to sit on the deck and call them up for me. He laughed and said he might just do it. I may not be able to hunt, but I might sit on the deck a few mornings just to call and listen for some gobblers.

It is a shame you are missing it this year but hopefully with your surgery you will be able to get back to normal in a few months.
Like ridgleyart I have only seen a few birds around my place this year so I am also giving them a break. Last fall we had a dozen or so around almost every day but this year so far we have only seen a couple of hens a few times and no toms. Hopefully they have found another local hangout and the dang coyotes didn't take a heavy toll on them this last winter. Bob

Sorry you will miss out this year......I may be in the same boat...MRI on my shoulder today will determine my ability to participate.....I guess I could try and shoot off hand...
Just do what the Doc's tell you so you can be out there for whitetail season this fall !!

I'm not a hunter, not against it either, I just have no need at this point in my life and enjoy the critters (for the most part) that come by my place. This guy was here 3 days ago by himself, I usually see a whole flock of them any where from a few 5-6 up to as many as 30 or so within a mile of my place when driving to town. I guess its hunting season around here (Texas) right now as I haven't seen any besides this guy for a couple of months. Sorry the picture isn't great, I was on back porch and he was out in front of the house about 40 yards away and had to use zoom on phone...

Due to rehabbing from knee replacement I am missing it again this year . My brother shot one last Saturday in my back of my house .
