you did well nice bring back home guns

nice to see one at least win a few

I have not even looked for any auctions with guns around us for years , I was disappointed way too many times ( even more then asking the prom queen for a date,, when I was in High school better add that in to keep down the comments LOL ) when going to local auctions people just seem to go nuts the got to win and its the last one on earth so have to get it seemed to be dominating the drive of the bidders

Your Remington looks like a NY State Militia rifle with the high "Mule Ear" hammer. If a NY State model, it will have a half-cock safety that will fall into position when you close the breech block, requiring re-cocking to full-cock. This was a safety requirement by NY State.

I like the "Old Poison slinger" 50-70.

The others are real nice too. I would keep the rolling block and make a nice shooter out of it if the barrel is any good and the Ruger I would shoot to see how it did. I have never got one to really shoot great but they are nice guns. The Marlin will sell easy and fast especially all tacticooled up like it is.

Thanks for the info Spider, it does indeed have the half cock feature.

That's my plan Sam, sell the Marlin and Ruger, keep the Remington and shoot it when I can find some ammo for it.

They make ammo but its going to be expensive. You can reload for it fairly east once you get brass. You can get bullets for it or cast your own. The brass will last a long time so you wouldn't need a whole lot.

You'll have no problem selling either one.
