    Hawk

30 inches long is to big for a normal Peregrine Falcon.

The toes and legs of the flacon is usually a bright yellow.

but The city duke type P Falcon has become lost it's fear of humans.

Red tail hawk. The belly band is pretty diagnostic. Tail does not appear really red, so it may be a juvenile.

I agree with He Dog, juvenile Red Tail.

An Osprey has more plumage on it's head. Looks like a young Red Tail to me.

...Redtail hawk, they are all over down here...lots of times Ive seen them set on top telephone poles watching for something to catch & eat. Out by my land I saw one standing on the ground that had just caught a field rat, , had the rat in its beak and staring at me.. cool birds (Raptor)...

Red Tail Hawk. Thank you He Dog.

There are lots of Red Tails around here. One day at Lookout Mountain Georgia I flew in my hang glider in company with a Red Tail. We were 3,000 feet above the ground. I saw the big bird from a half mile away. I flew over and I got 25 feet above him and about ten feet behind. This Big Boy had a wing span of about five feet and the distinctive red tail. I had a perfect view of the big raptor.

I flew in company with this master aviator for about one minute. What a magnificent creature of the air. Then, he looked up as to say, "Another one of those pesky humans" and he flew away.

This bird is much smaller than my hang glider buddy and no red tail so, I would agree a juvenile.

There are plenty of those around here. Plenty of Peregrine as well, but they are much smaller. I understand there is at least one nesting pair of Bald eagles on Lake Allatoona. The pair on Berry College campus lost both chicks this year so the nest cam has not been very interesting.

Have a pair of mature red tails here. Set high in big locust tree, one facing one way and one the other way.

Ought to see them when I bush hog, they have a feast on mice and snakes.

Definitely a red-tailed hawk. We have tons of them around here. I had a close encounter with one while out walking a couple weeks ago.

Red Tailed Hawk. Lots of them around here, only had one issue with my chickens, with one of them. Not any longer. SSS.

I got to see a red tail hawk feed one time. It didn't come down in one shot. It dropped in two steps. It dropped then leveled off then another drop then from about15 feet Bam! I didn't see what it was but it was all over. Probably a rabbit.
