1894 MARLIN SAFETY .32 WIN{OLD} MODEL

I have started a project to restore this old rifle. By reading, i see where the words Marlin 1894 is supposed to be on the top tang. This one doesnt have that. And it has not been filed off. Any ideas? Thx
