Same here Don. I'm done with them too.

It was the Total Wine store on Indiana yesterday, Randy.

I was close to staring at the Karen who called me out and letting her know that alcohol and tobacco are tied to almost 600,000 deaths in the US every year, and that if she was really interested in people's health, she would close the store for good.

I'm taking it a bit further Don, I'm leaving Washington for good. The state gives me every reason in the world to leave and not a single one that would convince me to stay.

    Agreed, wifetrained.

I sold my house in Washington the day after Inslee put out his first mandate in March a year ago. We moved on 1 May and while it will cost a bit due to Idaho's income tax, it is well worth it.

Work is a little more complicated, in that I sold my share of the company on 1 January of last year and have signed a 5-year transition contract. I am kind of stuck going into the nanny state of WA for a few more years.

You can run but you can't hide! They are claiming a new toxic variant that defeats all vaccines that have been made! It's going to be with us for a long time, you think? Hospital here in my home town just told all employees to take the shot or your fired!

    https://health.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/diagnostics/britains-coronavirus-variant-a-concern-likely-to-sweep-the-world-says-scientist/80845728

LONDON- The coronavirus variant first found in the British region of Kent is a concern because it could undermine the protection given by vaccines against developing Covid-19, the head of the UK's genetic surveillance programme said.

She also said the variant was dominant in the country and was likely "to sweep the world, in all probability".

The coronavirus has killed 2.35 million people and turned normal life upside down for billions, but a few new worrying variants out of thousands have raised fears that vaccines will need to be tweaked and people may require booster shots.

I think you've lowered your overall tax burden significantly.

    Tax Burden by State
This year, Uncle Sam will take his cut of the past year’s earnings on May 17, slightly later than usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many taxpayers are undoubtedly wondering how this year’s Tax Day will affect their finances, as a lot of people are struggling financially as a result of the pandemic.

The store showed poor form by letting you ring up your purchase and pay before warning you about the mask. If the sign says shirts and shoes required and you walked in bare foot and bare chested- showing off the magnificent physique that we all envy 😉 you shouldn't have been be able to walk into the store. But who would actually stop you from doing so?

What makes rules and company policies ridiculous is that there is never anyone in the store or shop who can or will enforce them. After all, who is going to risk getting punched in the nose for getting in someone face about wearing shoes? or a shirt? or a mask? Not many, and certainly not many working for minimum wage.

I'm an anti-masker, for myself. If you choose to wear one, more power to you. Just social distance the hell away from me and we're fine.

I'm in Ohio and I've only worn one a few times in the year. Here, they're probably 60/40, despite our little dictator's desires. The one I have worn is straight out of my pocket and is physically dirty and stained and probably slightly less contaminated as everyone else's. Have you seen people? They probably don't wash their hands after they poop, let alone for flu season. And their mask is on their chin!

We stopped to fuel the van and for my wife to get a drink. She went in to get a drink and was told she could not enter without a mask. When she said she did not have one, one was offered for sale. She walked out.

Meanwhile I am filling the van. When she returned and told me of her adventure, I shut off the pump - $9.51 worth of gas. The pump then told me I had to go inside the store to get my receipt. I put on my mask and went inside to ask for my receipt. I was asked which pump I was on. My reply? The only one with a vehicle sitting beside it (in fact the only vehicle in the area). I told him my intent was to fill the van and for my wife to get a drink. I then told him we would take our money and spend it elsewhere . . . which is exactly what we did.

By my calculations - at least $50 in lost sales for them. I really don't want to hear about how businesses are going broke because of Covid. Businesses are gong broke because of their policies. They have no one else to blame.

around here I see less and less people wearing one or once in a store they just pull it down out of the way

I did see a casher get on a customer at menards "you got a mask then put it on" as he was approaching her check out lane

one local butcher shop has a sign in the door governor says wear your mask if you come in .. no one not even the employees wear one LOL

JMHO no way a dust mask or kerchief can stop a microscopic germ its just a way to practice controlling people

I told my wife when all of this started, if Trump doesn't stay in the White House these 'power mandates ' will never go away. They love any control they can get. There will always be another chance for another virus resurgence or a newer scarier variety. It's so sad that the sheeple refuse to see it. And now immunizing children?? Its insane!!

    MyGym, I get your point.

With that said what good is a mask, really?

What good is a mask that is worn under the nose as many people do to breathe? What good is a mask that air jets out of the sides at a much higher velocity than normal breath? What good is a mask against a virus 100 nanometers in size when the gaps in the mask fabric are measured in the thousandths of an inch?

Using logic one can tell there is almost zero benefit to wearing a mask to prevent China Virus from entering the body. Social distancing is most likely the cause for less transmission than a stupid, ineffective mask mandated by Elected Masters based upon junk science and control experiments.

Seat belt laws are reasonable, drunk driving laws are reasonable. Both save lives and are based upon solid science. Mask mandates are POLITICAL, not laws, ineffective, intrusive and not backed by the science based upon particle diameters, filtration efficiency, proper wearing of one and of course your political view point.

Only wore the mask one time at the very beginning after I was already in the doc office and had paid my cash, was refused RX renewal until i put it on... haven't ever wore one since and haven't even been asked about one in over a month, I go to kroger, walmart, farm stores and the local watering hole/pizza joint every week, dumbest thing I see is someone walking into the restaurant with mask on then taking it off when they sit down.... oh and we mostly still shake hands and even hug some of the folks I see at the watering hole, a couple of them do the fist bump...

Control or effective? Check out flu statistics with masks and social distancing.

Some 136 people were hospitalized for the flu between Oct. 1, 2020, and Jan. 16, 2021, and there were 292 deaths involving influenza during that period, the CDC reported. One child has died.

The flu season is far from over — it usually begins in the fall, and peaks between December and February.

But in comparison, 400,000 people were hospitalized for the flu and 22,000 died, including 434 children, during the entire 2019–2020 season, which the CDC described as “severe” for kids 4 years old and younger, and for adults 18-49 years old.

Are you against seat belt laws?

Should we get rid of drunk driving laws?

I do not care if you risk your life, but if you risk mine, I will justifiably get angry. Think about it!

I have no intention of putting your or anyone's life at risk. If you believe that not wearing a mask by a healthy person somehow puts you at risk, you are free to avoid places that allow adults to make their own decisions just as I am free to avoid places that would impose those decisions upon us.

I would never pretend to suggest that masks be banned. People are free to make whatever decision suits them best.

I have no problem if you wear one out of fear, but simply ask that you not impose your fears upon others.

If we are to retain any significant individual freedoms in this county, we need to resist those that would be our parents.

I do not agree with mandatory seat belt laws, that does not mean I think people should not wear one. The reasoning used to pass them is used again and again to increase government control, money. I also do not agree with laws making it illegal for 18 year old adults to buy tobacco or alcohol product, again that doesn't mean I think they should. I also do not agree with "sin" taxes which are passed using the same reasoning as was used to pass the seat belt laws.

IMO the governor does not have the power or the right to order me to wear a mask. If a private business wished me to wear one that is their choice, it is my choice if I do business with them or not.

That is simply because of people actually doing what they should have been doing ALL along. Wash hands, avoid sick people. That AND I am SURE that a LOT of the Flu illnesses were BLAMED on the other virus. That virus produces WAY more money for the medical professionals than diagnosing someone with the flu. As always.......follow the money!

Comparing a mask to a fashionable lace veil is probably very accurate.

Lace veils: Yes, you can actually see through them but they are effective against airborne bacteria and other harmful pathogens.

That is exactly why I prefer to wear a mustache and not trim my nose hair too short.

If you think masks have no effect, you are only 160 years out of date. Not 100% effective, but improves your odds. Buying a Lottery ticket only improves your odds of winning slightly, but people buy lottery tickets every day.

The discovery in 1861 of the presence of bacteria in the air by Louis Pasteur made people aware of the dangers of breathing in harmful pathogens. This led doctors to prescribe cotton masks to limit contagion during epidemics. Fashionable women wore lace veils to protect their lungs from harmful airborne particles.

It is like any protection or safety device, it is important only when it is needed. I do not wear a mask out of fear, but to choose how I might die.

I don't think anyone said that masks have NO effect. BUT I will say for certain that a single layer cloth mask with visible holes will have ZERO effect on the spread of this current virus! Masks, REAL masks, do work BUT only when worn properly and disposed of AFTER contamination. N95s or higher when properly fitted block 95% of this virus. A single layer cloth mask with holes and loose fitting(including facial hair) will stop 0 % of this virus. Look how many people are wearing these single layer masks, loose fitting, nose out, full beard! Those stop NOTHING!

The masks you reference were all multilayer, pleated, and worn tight fitting. Look at the cdc website, they tell you to use multiple layers, pleated, and sealed TIGHTLY around the face.

Simply throwing WHATEVER you can find loosely over your face does nothing and probably makes the spread worse!

    MyGym,

I sincerely applaud you for your stance, may you never get China Virus.

If you feel a mask keeps you and yours plus society safe from China Virus, the flu and the common cold then by golly you should wear one until you pass as a very old man from natural causes. You might also point out to the TENS OF MILLIONS you may run across in your daily life that do not wear one correctly exposing their noses, do not have one on and those that refuse to wear one how important is is to YOU they wear one CORRECTLY.

Please let me know how that works out for ya.

By the by, prayers are based upon ones FAITH in God above. Faith is recognized across the globe across all races and religions.

Masks are based upon Governments everchanging power grabbing mandates never founded in law, science and trample the Constitutional FREEDOM we have codified in our founding documents. Masks are a POLITICAL expression of absolute power, maybe that ain't such a good thing.

Some states are FREE, they have no more China Virus than those suffering from the boot of government edicts upon their necks. Why is it okay to go to Walmart to get a pair of jeans and not the clothing store down the road which is closed by edict? Why are millions of small business people suffering, going broke and being destroyed while Walmart can still sell TV sets, paint, jeans and a lunch platter?

What ever happened to the millions of us locked in our homes for a month to FLATTEN THE CURVE????????

When is this going to end? Does it take the total destruction of our economy and tens of millions of American businesses and families to end it?

"Simply throwing WHATEVER you can find loosely over your face does nothing and probably makes the spread worse!"

"I don't think anyone said that masks have NO effect."

    Make up your mind!

Try thinking of masks like prayers. No actual proof that they work but they comfort people. Many people ask for them, and you respect their belief not ridicule them.

I HAVE made up my mind. Maybe you didn't understand my position with the edited copy and paste you did.

" BUT I will say for certain that a single layer cloth mask with visible holes will have ZERO effect on the spread of this current virus! Please read all of my post and not simply edit it to fit your narrative. REAL masks do work, how many N95 masks do you think the average person has, or N100s? Of the people that have ONE, how many actually have them fitted correctly, how many of those dispose of them once the are contaminated?

I also support your RIGHT to wear a mask if you feel it protects you, but I refuse to wear one because is simply makes someone "feel" better(false security). I am forced to wear a cloth mask at work, so I do. I also have multiple years of respirator training and these loose fitting, single layer, cloth masks go against EVERY expert out there when it comes to respirator training.

There is PROOF that prayers work, I have seen those work MANY times in my life. FAITH is what you must have for prayers, but remember.......not all prayers are answered the way YOU/I think they should be.

I respect most beliefs, MyGym, and only expect the same from others.

My belief is that after a year, it is time to get on with life and ignore the piss-ants in government who would rule over me vs. managing government the way America was intended.

I respect your choice to believe in wearing a mask and your right to wear one. So long as you do not demand I believe the same thing or act as if I do, all is good.

if you want to wear a mask to filter the air you breath in or exhale have at it

per the reasoning if your wearing a mask that should protect you from "germs " I am possibly spreading by not wearing one

now how about the money, door handles , products in the stores , gas pump handles , countless other items we all touch then touch our face or our kids faces .

I think the virus is real but enough is enough

but I think of the stories of people like Howard H, locked him self in his apartment no visitors urinated in bottles refused to have contact with any out sider had a big time air filter system in his car and he still died

living in fear of germs we all got to go some time no reason to rush it I agree but its going to get us no one gets out alive
