Can some one give me the build date for my 870 serial # T038350V TIA Frank

  left side barrel by the reciever is the date code letter number

  There is a DY on the left side plus a symbol before it. thanks

  Sept of 1974, or 2004, and that's if the barrel hasn't been swapped out.
