Is it justifiable to shoot through a door like this?

The body camera clips were filed in response to a defense request to dismiss felony firearm charges against Officer Tyler Leibfried.
Seems like attempted murder to me.

I can't imagine what was going through the officer's head when he decided to pull the trigger long after hearing what he said he thought were gunshots.
Because of that I cannot see how attempted murder would be appropriate. Reckless endangerment seems an fairly obvious minimum charge.

Well, he wasn't trying to give the bloke behind the door a cookie. He heard movement and started blasting.

Looks very bad, but video can be deceiving. I am sure they will get it figured out and do the right thing.

I don't see how that is justified.
I didn't see the video because they wanted me to subscribe but for a cop to shoot someone through a door is IMO not warranted unless they shot through the door 1st.

I don't rate it as "heart Wrenching" I rate it more as completely and totally dumbfounding!! chme, so agree. To me it isn't so much who is training these people it is more like "Is anyone training these people?"
I'm trying to think of which rule of firearms safety says "When you ain't got nothing better to do, just pop a few rounds through a door." I am amazed by this behavior.

Generally speaking, I completely agree. But did we miss anything in the video? Did the judge miss anything, or is she in on the media corruption as well?
The video is a continuous recording - uninterrupted - from the officer's own body cam. How does one justify shooting 4 times through a closed door the first time and then two shots a second time AFTER the guy inside screams "Stop!" 9 times and "Ow!" from the first volley?
I'm willing to entertain a justification here. Make the case.
Note: I don't trust the media one iota either, so I counted the number of times the guy yelled "stop" after the first 4 shots, and it was 9 times....

Reckless officer needs a lengthy prison sentence. Next, the training division needs to be cleaned out, and fire the person who hired him.

The Officer stated; "he thought he heard gun shots".
In my aging feeble mind that is a pee poor excuse to just start blasting through a door with out knowing what or who your bullets will strike and what is behind the non seen target.
As mentioned training and officer screening sure leaves a lot to be desired.
I really feel bad for the poor bloke that got shot by this "Public Servant."

OK, like I said, we dont have ALL the facts, so we cant make the case and that's my whole point. We are only being shown what the medias wants us to see. Could there be more than what is observed on the video?
Travon Martins "Baby" pics was all we the public were shown pics. Obama said if he had a son......
How about "Hands up: Dont Shoot" and the "Gentle Giant" . Media has a long established history of lying to us all for the purpose of propaganda. How about painting the narrative BLM riots were peaceful protects.
Consider media showing Obama era detention videos of what's going on at the border and saying this is what Trump is doing. Same media giving credit to Biden for the Covid vaccine and blaming Trump for todays border crisis Biden created with his EOs.
Endless hypocrisy, propaganda, bias, and pandering of partisan DEMOCRAT dogma is what main stream media is all about. No wonder so many dont trust them.

I spent 40 years working as a police officer and involved in some serious situations and I can say that sometimes the view of the video camera can be very deceiving since it only catches one point of view and not the little things that you actually see, smell, or hear. I don't know that I would have ever shot thru a door not knowing what is on the other side; be afraid to hit an innocent person or kill someone innocent. My training and experience would not justify that type of shooting where it is unclear the target. I know that having been involved in shootings that I looked at the backdrop of where I was shooting, again afraid to hit some innocent person. But that is me and I am not trying to slam anyone in their responses. Just my perspective, however I still believe that a complete investigation should be done before reaching a conclusion that either the department training was wrong, the hiring practice was wrong, or the officer was wrong.
