Was looking to hold the price down, but still get something versatile. Load it with .38 Special to plink with and practice. Load it with Full House .357mag for HD and Bears while hiking in CO.
Not bad. Not great, but not bad. Had it for $409, until a very last second Bidder. Oh Well. Boy is beginning to Arm up. I approve of that.
Okay Taurus Agitators, Flame on. 🤣

Will you break it in for him?

I bid for him after, giving him advice on a bunch he was looking at. I think he got a good deal in today's market. We jumped on it, with 38 min. Remaining. (Again) Had it at $409, until 30 seconds left. 😬
We both contacted Seller within 5-10 min. Of purchase to clarify I was bidfing for my Son. He was buying it. Everybody was all good. My Son had already E-mailed him.

That should fit his needs.

It is getting shipped to CO. No break in by me. It's all them. He texted me about 10-15 he was interested in. I thought this was the best deal for the $$. He did not want to look at used. (Which was my recommendation.)
His Girfriends Father, a long time SWAT Member in Miami, gave it a thumbs up also. (For what that is worth.) We are just glad they are beginning to Arm Up.

I've got an sp101 and it is a handfull of recoil with 357's, not to bad with 38's, a 2inch barrell and polymer frame will have the kick of a mule, I wish him well Ken....... of course recoil doesn't matter as much with the young

I'm still laughing reading his texts, while the auction was underway. "This is fun Dad, Thanks." Then his bid got bumped with 30 seconds left. He texted me WTH? (With an F) I said, "Yeah someone else was watching it and saw it going cheap." (Gotta love Auctions.)
He was like "Really, we were 30 seconds away from getting it at $409?" I said "Yeah, you were 30 seconds from getting it at $409." 😂
I just texted him. This is Great!! Let's bid on some more guns. 🤣

.357mag and bears? You must mean "bears".
😝

That gun is going to buck with full power 357 loads. Nice gun though. I didn't know Taurus copied Ruger with a plastic revolver.
I shot one of those scandium framed S&W 357 mags once. I thought my hand blew up.

They were looking at primarily .38 Special or 9mm. I thought this would be more versatile and better on bear while out hiking than either of the 1st two rounds.

Do they have a waiting period in CO? How about a carry permit?
0 -
No waiting period. He/they are looking in to a carry permit. I told him in Liberal CO. Cross your fingers.
He said it's mainly for the house or for Bears while they are out hiking and camping. Like me, they are Outdoor junkies.
Er..............................I mean like I used to be.
We were talking Gunbroker, and he threw about 10-15 at me and said what do you think about these? I was wading through them, he had a Chiappa 9mm M1 Carbine (didn't know it was not real) stuff like that that, I steered him away from. I found the Taurus at about $390 with about 38 min left. He decided to pop on it.
We were right in the middle of my talking to him about don't be afraid to look used, not abused. When he said "throw a bid on it for me."
I told him, "you REALLY don't want to shoot a Bear with a 9mm or a .38 Special. I explained you can use .38 Special or full house .357 mag rounds in this, and the versatility advantages that offered.
Not too bad for his 1st handgun.

I like that it has a hammer for single action shooting.

"The Polymer frame Model 605 Revolver is built to the same high standards you'd expect from Taurus."
EXACTLY. Say no more. Dude that is one silly looking, damn I hate to call it a revolver. Maybe Taurus bought a three d printer and this is one of their first try's. Does it come with see through plastic bullets?? And you paid over $500.00 all in?? 😂🤣🤣😂

With a 2" bbl, the 357 mag is at a disadvantage compared to 9mm. So you should have encouraged him to go that route.

Some bears, you shoot them with .357mag and they'll thank you for scratching their itch.

I have heard that the favorite rifle used by Eskimos is a 220 swift.

I really hope that revolvers serves them well. I'm about 50-50 luck with their revolvers with that said the wife has a model 85 ultra light that has been flawless and is super accurate

Had a 85 ultralight, I gifted to my Sister, that was complaining there were no firearms available (shortly after the Wuhan Flu broke out.) after she got her CCW. Nickle plated, hidden hammer, always reliable. (Carried it for a little while before my 642 Airweight.) I have a 4-5" all blued metal and wood grips Taurus .357 (do not know the model # off hand.) It is a quality nicely made Revolver and is very nice. A lot of Gun Buddies have all shot it. "Wow, this is nice." Have a Taurus 740 Slim 7 shot single stack .40 cal. It's always gone bang. Ergonomics are about my favorite small carry piece.
Only Firearms I've bought that refused to function as new and designed? Two 1911's that were just sold. Buh Bye.
To each their own.

I have seen a lot of Taurus guns that had to go back to get fixed.
I am not a gun snob par se but I like my guns named after dead white guys not constellation's or animals. Its just me and that's the way I roll😉
I hope it works out for them.

I've owned one. Won it at a pheasants forever banquet.
Judge, or some such thing.
I gave it away to my neighbor before we left the banquet that night. Had no idea that Taurus didn't have a QC department.
There was metal turned/skimmed from the barrel install. The lock up was horrible, slop/play.

I bought a S&W 329 a while back. Ran a couple of cylinders of specials through it, shot just fine. Ran one of my 300g. moose
loads through it and about soiled myself!
You can get 180g hard cast for that 357. I guess if you are being gnawed on the recoil won't bother you.

I had a 329 for awhile with full loads it makes my full size S&W 500 seem tame
