Local auctions, gosh miss those. Looks like a very nice score.😊

I'm not usually a fan of maple stocked guns but I sure like the looks of that Model 70.

I'm sure you're about out of room in your safe so feel free to send it to me and I'll store it for you. No charge!

Modell 70 would probably fit in my safe better than yours. What a dandy.

Boy you sure have a lot of local auctions. I don't have time for that but why are the prices low enough in your area for you to resell and make any money?? The few live auctions I have attended when prices were normal, people went crazy paying way too much for guns. I just walked up to the gun shop up front. They opened at ten and by ten fifteen when I went up, there were already a bunch of folks wanting to look at guns. They are packed all day long. The owner stays late to do paperwork. Oh well, good on you.

Most of the guns at auctions go crazy high, substantially over new most of the time. However, if it;s an auction with 50 or more guns a few usually slip by with little attention. If the auction has only a few guns I typically skip it. Last night's had two other Ruger zytels in .22-250 and .308. They went for $1600 and $1500, the 223 and 243 I bought didn't get near the attention.

I'm not usually a maple fan either, but this one jumped out at me. As for the safe, thanks to the big dogs the entire house is a safe.

Great score but I must say all of them are ugly but will do well in a resell situation.

The brass of the Henry does stand out, but the Maple Winchester is prettier in person. The two Rugers I totally agree with you on, I prefer wood and blued metal.

A good friend (RIP) let me borrow his Ruger M77 Mark II with zytel skeleton stock, stainless barreled rifle in 30-06 to use on a deer hunt on his large farm. I came quite unprepared bringing a flintlock muzzle loader to a place where the most common shots were out to 300 yards plus.

The rifle performed very well with a nice doe harvested that day from a shot I did not measure but it was "out there" from all of my previous hunting experiences that are in deep woods at a max of 50 yards. Ever since my use of that piece I have had kind of a crush on them Ruger's. 🙂
