possible giveaway...........
wife got a new cpap machine from insurance and they didn't want the old one back. I remember a while back the hassle Ken (84bravo) went through with his and then had to buy one. well we have the old one and they don't want it back it is about 5 years old still works fine, I guess a person would have to have it adjusted/reprogrammmed to a setting they need and get new hose and mask, old one will be included if the ongoing virus scare doesn't worry you.
It is a respironics, REMstar plus M series for anyone interested or if you know someone who could use it let me know and I will mail it to you, if no interest I will just put it out for trashman, just hate to throw it away if someone could use it.
it has sit for a few months in the case as she has been using the new one, but old one still works and functions fine, she just decided to clean the closet and was gonna throw it out last night.

My Cousin got one through the VA. He (like me) could just not use it due to Claustraphobic issues. The VA did not want it back.
I also have one pretty much brand new beside my bed.
I do know the Respironics brand is a good one per my research. Yes - with a prescription in hand a place that Sells CPAP/BPAP machines can reprogram it. Masks and new tubes can be had for $100 or so. (Cpap.com is a great site.)
Nice giveaway hillbille.
I wasted about $1200 or so out of pocket on mine. Still having terrible sleep issues, get a few hours a night. Sleep a couple, awake 2/3, get maybe another two. (This with over the counter sleep meds.) When I have pursued prescription meds, they look at you like you are asking for crack. (I also think, with Heart issues, breathing issues, sleep apnea - they are afraid I will not wake up.) I dread the nights.

Might be worth keeping to take along when you travel. Save wear and tear on your good one.

I keep my old one in my camper, to keep from hauling/forgetting my new one to our camp.

I'd give anything to be able to use mine. I have tried repeatedly. After about 30 min. (Or less) I have to rip it off my face.
I've not given up, but it scares the crap out of me, having it on my face.

Perfect analogy Nanuq907. No matter how much I need it, I can not make it happen. Wasted $$.
The two Sleep Studies and the price of the BPAP, I can not use - $2K easy. Beautiful.
