You need to change your tone within your posts. Complaints about sellers, especially one based upon fear, are not allowed in the forums. Nobody here can help you with this issue. Contact GB support if you have concerns. Contact the seller and ask them about the lay-a-way. The details should be clear in the auction description.

I rarely do layaways, but if a buyer is serious and the time to pay is short, I will consider it.

When the buyer sends me a payment, in the mail, I send him a receipt for his money, in the mail. My receipt states my name and address, the buyer's name and address, a complete description of the item purchased, the total sale price, the amount of this payment, and the balance owed.

There is a right way and a wrong way to do anything.

Ask your seller for a more businesslike receipt if the way he is doing it bothers you.

I think if he had a habit of ripping people off, he wouldn't have a high score with 200 transactions. I never understood using layaway. If he takes credit cards, charge the balance and be done with it. You will at least have the credit cards protection if something goes wrong with the purchase. If you can't pay off the balance then perhaps you should not have made the purchase until you could afford it. Bob

If you’re that worried about it, find a way to pay him off and expect the gun to be shipped. Then you’ll either get it and find you had nothing to worry about, or you’ll have a complaint to file with customer support.
