So the Little Re-Direct Button Went Away

It appears that the redirect button at the bottom of the page has gone away.

So sad. I always liked that feature. I will miss it very much.

    Re direct button? I'm not familiar with it or its function. Describe what it did. If deemed truly useful I can request it be restored, but it appears that no one knew about it.

    At bottom of page, under 'Post Comment', there was a button for the forum you are on, this one being 'General Discussion'. Click that button and it would take you back to top of GD forum, without having to scroll back to top or hitting the back button. Yeah, I miss it too and it is missing off all forums.

    This is dire, most dire. I noticed it was gone just before reading this thread. Hopefully it's just a glitch in the Matrix and it will be back with us tomorrow.

    Most likely it's budget cuts. That re-direct button looked awfully expensive.

    Add up the cost of all those buttons on all the forums and it could be expensive.

    This is what happens when no one pays their dues. First the got rid of the coffee and donuts in the lounge, then the lounge. Now we are losing buttons. What's next, our membership stars? I know there's a couple members who would love to see the disagree button gone.

    No such button on the bottom of my page. This is probably because I did not sign up for that gold member thing.

    Thanks to Shootuadeal's screen shot I see that I have it on my phone, which I virtually never use to view the forums.

    Possible confusion in terminology. The feature was not shown as a "Redirect Button" Next to the Post Comment box, there used to be a green font name of the forum. You could click that and be returned to the top of the forum. It was a "Return to Forum" button. It avoided the need to use the Back button (which possibly caused problems like double posting.)

    Now, after you post a comment here, you have to somehow scroll back to the top of the thread you're in to find the green font "GENERAL DISCUSSION" button. On a keyboard, you just hit the HOME key. I haven't a clue how you do it on a phone or other non-keyboard machine. There isn't even a "Return to Top" button. But a "Return to Forum" button is much handier.

    "What redirect button are you talking about? We didn't make any changes to the site."

    Contact was made with a higher authority. My duty as an administrator is done. Carry on.

    It's gone, Mark. I just checked this thread using three different browsers, logged off and back on. No change. The green font GENERAL DISCUSSION button that used to be next to the Post Comment box has vanished.

    I noticed when it went away, the multiple page tabs (for threads that had them) also went away.

    It is still on my phone, but not on my computer machine.


    I don't remember it ever being on my computer machine, but then I use the little roller thing on the remote control to move around, and would not have used it anyway.

    Try this: hold down the <ALT> key and tap the back-arrow.

    I didn't realize how much I used that little gizmo until it was gone. All of this scrolling to the top of the page is so very tedious.

    try right clicking with your mouse then click the back arrow that appears
