Browning model 12 28 gauge serial number
I have two grade 5 guns, one with a serial number 07815, one with serial number 03400. Browning was no help with the 07815. Supposedly only 4000 of these were manufactured. Both shotguns are IDENTICAL in every way, functioning and appearance. I use both on SD pheasants since I'm old and only block the fields and get close shots. Any advice most welcome.

From what little research I could find, it appears that both the 20 and 28 used the same frames. If that's the case, it could just be that they just kept changing the roll die number for each frame, and there was no specific range for each gauge.

There were 7000 Grade 1s and 5000 grade Vs made. Perhaps they didn't change the serial numbers, just the prefix. NM972 for the V and NM872 for the l. Bob

Sorry but your question isn't clear. If your referencing date of manufacture? According to Browning, the 28 gauge, over and under serial numbers, have a letter prefix. If your 28's were built on a 20 gauge frame? They would date to 1952 and 1954? But these guns didn't have a zero as the first di

Rufe, I believe the post was regarding the Model 12 pumps that were made by Miroku. They were produced in 91-92. Bob
