Seller Paypal Fee
Hi, ALL. I'm new to selling on GB and I recently sold some stuff.
I got my payment through paypal. For some of them, I get exact what they paid. For others, I was charged with 3% fee and the paypal transactions shows they are purchases. What can I tell buyer to do to avoid this fee?

1) Don't use PayPal. They are no friend to the firearms community. Every time they get used you're putting money in the pockets of those that want to take away our 2nd Amendment rights.
2) If you insist on using it then put something in your auction description describing the fee.

If PayPal learns you're selling guns/gun related items, they will freeze your account.

Nothing is free, you can't just go down to your local bank and borrow some cash, and expect to pay nothing. They are providing a service, and have employees and equipment to pay for. And as Steve mentioned, they are not friends to anyone around here, read 2j.

Other than tell them to send it "friends" which many will not do, you have no recourse. And as said once they, paypal spots it with mention of Gunbroker ect. IF they catch it your account will be frozen. Granted it's the wave of the bleak future but I am exploring other methods instead of Paypal.

Paypal has different types of accounts. A personal account lets you pay up to a certain amount (I think $200) for personal expenses; a business account requires you to pay a fee for all money transfers.
Paypal is the illegitimate offspring of ebay. Sellers on ebay MUST accept Paypal from buyers, & they always assume that anyone selling anything is in business.
You may get by the Paypal bots for a while, but eventually folks who sell here get caught by Paypal. Follow the good advice given by the guys above.
Personally, I accept bank checks (aka cashiers checks), Postal Money Orders, & personal checks (which I usually hold for clearance). I don't accept anything from MoneyGram.
