Rough Rider cylinder swap?
I now have a 6 shot 22 lr Rough Rider and want to get a WMR cylinder for it. Will there be any issues buying a used cylinder and will it “drop in” without any need for fitting or tuning? I found a used one locally but the guy doesn’t think it’ll work and asking me to confirm before I buy. Anyone know the answer?

I don't for certain but they usually have to be fitted.

I had a rough rider years ago that was stolen in a home break in. They didn't find/take the mag cylinder.
Fast forward a few years, and someone on here was asking about finding a cylinder.
I dug through my boxes of "really good stuff" and found it.
Mailed it off to him, and he said it worked great.
Don't remember who on here it was, though.

Thanks all. I read the manual, seems like it should work no problem. Can buy them direct from Heritage and tried looking used first when I found the local one. I figure for a few bucks & some gas $$ that it's worth a try.
What's the worst that could happen? They're pot metal guns anyway so they should "fit" themselves after a couple hundred rounds 😁 (green font).

I did the same as mac10 for my Ruger. I bought a mag cylinder on the auction side, checked the timing using a wooden dowel, and everything looked fine, checked for any shaving after a few rounds also. I wouldn't do that without checking. That could get ugly.

You can buy the spare cylinder direct from Herritage (aka Taurus).

Well, I put the cart in front of the horse and won 150 rounds of WMR on the auction side. $0.285/round after shipping for CCI Maxi Mags. Now I'll just have to get the cylinder and try it out.

I gave a good friend a Heritage Rough Rider for Christmas. The spare cylinder wasn't included but there was a coupon in the box for free shipping or some such thing.
Ordered the spare cylinder for him as well. He shot a squirrel off his bird feeders the 1st day owning it.

Yup, had that same coupon in the box with mine. Just trying used first t osee if I can save a few bucks. If I end up buying new from Heritage, I might splurge and get an engraved one.

Mine came with the extra cylinder when I purchased it several years ago. The plant is just down the road from me now. My SIL did some electrical work on the building and while there purchased a Heritage at the plant. Don
