Help with Remington 512 bolt
I have a Remington 512 22 rifle. I removed the bolt for cleaning and now cannot get it back in. It seems to be getting hung up on something. Is there a trick to this that I don't know about?

Are you pulling the trigger back as you re-insert the bolt?

search on-line about that issue.
you might even find some assembly/dissamble downloads for that rifle.
Bolt must be cocked for re-installing.
Here is a link to a hint.

you must cock the bolt then reinsert while pulling the trigger all the way back.

I cocked the bolt and re-inserted it with the trigger pulled back. It went in a little farther but is still getting hung up on something.

OK try pushing the trigger forward, it sounds like it may be catching the sear so also try moving the safety and pulling trigger to release it completely

No. I am going to take it to the local gunsmith. Thanks.

I have had the same problem with my 512.
The local gun shop got it back together in five seconds.
Embarrassing.
I haven't removed the bolt since.
