    Memories of cutting edge HiFi (High Fidelity) sound! My families first TV was an Admiral B&W with a screen of about 20" from memory. It was a big piece of furniture! Late 1950's and it set my dad back a lot of $$ back then.


    Lasted up until the "great pillow fight" of 1967 when my younger brother threw a pillow at my sister. Missed her by a mile but hit the cat lamp atop the old Admiral. The heavy lamp took the end right off the monster picture tube! 😕

    A large percentage of TV sets at that time came like that but that is a quite a bit fancier than any I can recall. That's about when we got ours & it did have a cabinet & the radio, TV & record player. That pretty much went out by the middle 50s when we got the giant 16" screens.
