    Second question first, no.

    First question not really, unless you are shooting national match level benchrest.

    Trim too lengths are usually .020 less than the max length. Unless you shoot hundreds or thousands of rounds and ring the chamber a bit too short is not an issue for most guns. The consistincy in length is more important in setting the bullet seating die.

    The 8mm Remington Magnum and the 8mm Mauser are two entirely different cartridges and each requires their specific loading dies. I would think .005 short overall length to not cause any issues to reloads.
